Research Assistant at the UC Davis Adult Development Lab
Adult Development Lab, UC Davis, CA (2013-Current)
Hold a position as a research assistant for the Adult Development Lab at UC Davis. At our lab, we are interested in
understanding how adults use prior knowledge to make decisions, interpret information, and further their learning
capabilities. Moreover, we are interested in understanding how these relationships between knowledge and cognitive
function change within the adult lifespan.
Internships:
UC Davis Medical Center: Cardiac Rehabilitation Intern (Fall 2015)
Shadowed a dietitian and learned about the role a dietitian plays in the cardiac rehabilitation program at the UC
Davis Medical Center, specifically in the prevention and treatment of heart disease in an outpatient setting.
Communi-Care Health Center Clinical Nutrition Intern (Winter 2014)
Served as an interpreter for the Perinatal Program Dietitian and pregnant Hispanic patients with gestational diabetes
in a clinical nutrition setting, in addition to translating education materials and helping with clerical tasks.
Special Project:
Participated in the Undergraduate Research Conference at UC Davis, by presenting some of the research performed
at the Adult Development Lab I work in. Successfully prepared a research method by collaborating with other
undergraduate and graduate students, and the lab director, collected data from registered UC Davis students, and
analyzed the results in order to apply to the Undergraduate Research Conference. Efficiently created a poster on the
results of the study and presented our findings at the conference.
