Plumbing & Heating Installations Terms & Conditions

The following Terms & Conditions apply to all plumbing & heating installation work provided by
Teall Plumbing & Heating.
1. Our Obligation
We Teall Plumbing & Heating agree to carry out works detailed in the quotation with
reasonable skill and care. The materials we supply will be of satisfactory quality and be fit for
purpose.
2. Definitions:
For the purpose of these terms & conditions the following words shall have the following
meanings:
2.1 Contract means the contract between you and Teall Plumbing & Heating. A contract can
be formed by any of the following:
(i)
signed a quote
(ii)
agreed to a quote in writing/ verbally
(iii)
fixed a starting date
(iv)
paid a deposit
(v)
verbally told them to go ahead with the work
2.2 The Customer shall mean the person or organisation for whom Teall Plumbing & Heating
agrees to carry out works &/or supply materials.
2.3 The Operative or Engineer shall mean the representative appointed by Teall Plumbing &
Heating.
2.4 we/us/our means Teall Plumbing & Heating of 1 Station Road, Gilberdyke, HU15 2st.
2.5 work means service/repair/installation and/or any other service carried out.
2.6 you means the customer/person named on the quotation.
3. Quotation:
3.1 The quotation is valid for a period of 30 days from the date of quotation.
3.2 To accept the quotation then a copy of the quotation can be signed and returned to Teall
Plumbing & Heating.
3.3 Accepting a quotation can also be done verbally and in other written forms.
3.4 By accepting the quotation, the customer is agreeing to the terms & conditions set out
herein.
3.5 The total cost may change from the quotation due to the following circumstances:
(i) if after submission of the quotation the Customer instructs Teall Plumbing & Heating
(whether orally or in writing) to carry out additional works not detailed in the quotation.
(ii) if after submission of the quotation it is discovered that further works need to be carried
out which were not anticipated when the quotation was prepared. Should further works
become apparent Teall Plumbing & Heating will make the client aware of any additional
costs prior to commencing the work.
4. Deposit :
4.1. Any works to be undertaken by Teall Plumbing & Heating that include supplying of a
central heating boiler or bathroom appliances will require a deposit to be paid before works

commence to cover the cost of materials been supplied. This will be stated on the
quotation.
5. Payment:
5.1. An invoice will be issued once works are complete and any remaining balance due after
the deposit must be paid within 14days of receiving an invoice. On larger works an interim
payment may be required this will specified on the quotation.
5.2. If payment is not received by the due date then Teall Plumbing & Heating may charge
interest at the rate of 4% over the base rate until payment in full is received.
6. Guarantee:
6.1. Teall Plumbing & Heating will only guarantee works carried out by themselves for 12
months from the date of completion.
6.2. The Guarantee will become null & void if the work/appliance installed/supplied by Teall
Plumbing & Heating is:
(i) Subject to misuse or negligence.
(ii) Repaired, modified or tampered with by anyone other than a Teall Plumbing & Heating
operative.
6.3. Silicone of appliances is exempt from the 12 months guarantee.
6.4. Teall Plumbing & Heating will not guarantee any work undertaken on instruction from the
customer against the written or verbal advice of the operative/engineer.
6.5. Teall Plumbing & Heating will not be held liable or responsible for any damage or defect
resulting from work not guaranteed.
6.6. Teall Plumbing & Heating will accept no liability for, or guarantee materials/appliances
supplied by the customer & will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault.
6.7. Appliances and materials supplied by Teall Plumbing & Heating are subject to the
manufactures guarantee / warranty and it is the customers responsibility to adhere to the
terms and conditions the manufactures guarantee/warranty sets out.
7. Cancellation Rights:
7.1. You can cancel a quotation acceptance up to 14 days after you have accepted the
quotation; this is called your cooling off period.
7.2. If you have paid a deposit to cover the cost of materials and you cancel, you will lose your
deposit unless we can recoup the cost of materials.
7.3. By signing/accepting the quotation you agree that Teall Plumbing & Heating can start work
before the cooling off period ends.
7.4. If you cancel your contract after work has started, we will charge you our reasonable costs
for:
(i) any work already carried out, or
(ii) any goods already installed into your property.
7.5. You will not be able to cancel once work is fully completed or the goods have been
installed into your property.
7.6. Urgent repairs / maintenance work are exempt from the cooling off period.
