Unit: Shmuel Alef Perakim 1-12

Grade Level: 12
Ability level: Everyone
Goal:
The students will review what has been taught throughout the semester by
using the skills they have gained in class and will identify the themes and
lessons that can be applied to their lives.
Instructions:
Students will go through the first twelve chapters of Shmuel Alef and identify
two questions on each perek. The students will provide three answers for
each question using three different meforshim. The following formats may
be used:

Powerpoint Presentation
Essay Format
Video/ Podcast Recording (recording must take place outside of class)

The following should be included at the end of each group of answers:

The theme that is found in the topic being discussed.

A life lesson.

Self-reflection log must be completed and handed in after each time

working on your project.

Materials needed:

Mikraot Gedolot Sefer Shmuel

Any other meforshim/sefarim a student desires to utilize

Your notes taken in class

Writing materials and notebook


Laptop (this may only be used for assisting in your project. Any abuse
of this rule will result in the removal of laptop privileges and the student will
be required to complete computer related sections outside of class.)

Unit: Shmuel Aleph Perakim 1-12
Grade: 12
Ability Level: Everyone
Goal:
To demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter, depicting it through the
perspective of an important personality from Sefer Shmuel.
Instructions:
Talmidim will chose one character from Shmuel and describe the stories in
Shmuel (perek 1-12) through the perspective of his/her character of choice.
This can be accomplished by using any of the following formats:

Write a personal dairy from the perspective of the chosen personality

Use a story bird or similar program to create a book
Use power point to create a presentation

The following criteria must be fulfilled in your project:

An introduction explaining the prelude to the story of Shmuel

At least one event from each perek.
Incorporate at least three meforshim related to the event.
A conclusion summing up the major themes found in the twelve
perakim as well as a life lesson with which we can walk away.
