Katleen definitely knows

and understands the
content to be covered. She
was able to link the lesson
to what we had been
discussing the days prior to
her teaching and was able
to relate it to ideas the
students were familiar with
such as a Harry Potter
Kathleen
excerpt. was familiar with
the students' background
knowledge as she had been
helping me co-teach the
previous days. She was
very conscious of students
that might need some extra
assistance and asked my
advice/opinion on how to
best meet their needs. Her
learning outcomes were
clear and appropriate for
the students. She had a
variety
of seemed

charge. She
was very
patient with some silliness
from several students in
their questions, but kept
things moving. For every
activity, she told them what
was expected and then
would walk around to assist
and to make sure groups
were on task. She was very
aware of the time and kept
the lesson moving in a
timely manner.

After the lesson, Katleen

was able to point out some
areas she wanted to
change, and then was able
to do that with the next
several classes. She is
very open to suggestions
from me and tries to
implement an idea I give
her.

I couldn't be more pleased

with Kathleen! She is very
professional in all aspects.
She is dependable and
from day one has shown a
great amount of initiative.
She sees what needs to be
done and does it without
prompting from me. She is
connecting with students
and is often talking with
them about their day, etc...
I have appreciated her
willingness to help me out in
whatever I have asked from
grading papers, to working
with small groups, etc...

Suggestions for Continuing Professional Development: Areas of Strength and Areas for Growth

1. Try not to talk over the students - get their attention, even if it means you have to wait.:) Some
were chatting when directions were given and then weren't clear on instructions.
Overall the lesson was great! Kathleen was very creative in her planning and planned a variety of
activities to keep the students engaged. She kept the lesson moving and covered a lot in a short
amount of time.
