Macbeth

Macbeth:
A Scottish general and the thane of Glamis. Led to wicked
thoughts by the three witches, especially after their first set of
prophecies that stated he will be made thane of Cawdor then it
became true. Macbeth is a brave soldier and a powerful man. He
is tempted into murder by his wife Lady Macbeth and his
ambitions to take the throne. Once he commits his first crime he
is crowned king of Scotland. He then started to kill others but his
wife had no impact on the decision. He is never comfortable in his
role as a criminal.

Lady Macbeth:
Macbeths wife. At the first part of the play she carries herself to
be a strong powerful woman and then goes crazy towards the end
of the play.

The Three Witches:

Three things (gender unknown). They look like ladies but they
have beards. Can tell people their fate.

Banquo:
Scottish General. Friends with Macbeth. Got killed by the murders
sent by Macbeth. Fooled around with Macbeth at the table.

King Duncan:
The king of Scotland trusted Macbeth. Then killed by him.

Macduff:
A Scottish nobleman, Thane of fife, doesnt like Macbeth, and
went to England to get Malcolms help

Malcolm:
The son of Duncan and next in line for the throne.

Hecate:
The goddess of witchcraft. Helps the three witches mess with
Macbeth.

Fleance:
Banquos only son, who survives Macbeths attempt to murder
him and at the end of the play his whereabouts are unknown

Lennox:
A Scottish nobleman.

Ross:
A Scottish nobleman.

The Murderers:
A group of killers that Macbeth hires to murder Banquo, Fleance
(who they didnt kill), and Macduffs wife and son.

Porter:
The drunken doorman in Macbeths castle.

Lady Macduff:
Macduffs wife. Died with her son.

Donalbain:
Duncans son and Malcolms younger brother.

Directors note
Shakespeare has been enjoyed for over 500 years because
of the older feeling of the language, the way the Characters can
connect to anyone in the modern day, and how Shakespeare is
witty and cleaver. Macbeth is my favorite play because it shows
how people can go to having no soul into having a soul or the
other way around. Also because it shows a lot of peer pressure
throughout the book and can be connected to everyones life. My
personal favorite part is when Banquos spirit disturbs Macbeth
when he was at the dinner party because he was a noble man and
promised to come.

Act one scenes 1-7

This act starts at the end of a war between Scotland and
Norway. Scotland won because of Macbeths efforts in the war. The
thane of Cawdor was named a traitor and captured and killed.
King Duncan then gives the title of thane of Cawdor to Macbeth to
show his appreciation. The three witches then find Macbeth and
Banquo and tell him his future like he was the thane of Cawdor
and would eventually become the king. When Macbeth hears
news of his new title he sends a letter to his wife telling her
everything the witches said to him and king Duncans plans to
stay with them that night at their castle. When Lady Macbeth gets
the letter she starts to plan how she is going to kill King Duncan.
So that Macbeth can be the king. When Macbeth arrives she talks
him into following along with her plans.
Act two scenes 1-4
Macbeth kills King Duncan and then freaks out. Then Lady
Macbeth framed the guards. When King Duncans body was
discovered by Macduff the guards are killed by Macbeth. Kings
sons run away because they were afraid of being blamed. No one
suspected Macbeth. Then the king was buried.
Act three scenes 1-6
Banquo is starting to suspect that Macbeth killed the king.
Then Macbeth got worried that Macbeth would tell other people
about his suspicions. Macbeth then sends out three murders to kill
Banquo and Fleance but Fleance got away. There was a dinner
party with the lords and Banquos spirit came and haunted
Macbeth. Macbeth then started to go crazy and yell at Banquos
sprit and everyone thought he was weird and need help. Lady

Macbeth tried to save Macbeth by saying that he was prone to

fits. Macduff is also suspicious of Macbeth and runs to England to
get help to kill him.

Act four scenes 1-3

Macbeth sees the witches again and it told that he needs
stay away from Macduff and cant be killed by a man born of a
women. Plans to send people to kill Macduffs family. Then
Macduff is over in England trying to get Malcolm to go help with
his war and kill Macduff. Malcolm didnt trust Macduff and tried to
get him to confess he was lying but after all the things he said he
decided his words were to powerful for him to be lying. Malcolm
then agreed to go with Macduff
Act five scenes 1-11
Lady Macbeth is now breaking down and the doctors couldnt
help her. The once noble and powerful girl was broke down like a
kids crayon. Scottish lords decide to help Malcolm and Macduff to
kill Macbeth. Macbeth doesnt care because he thinks no one can
kill him because everyone was born of a woman.
