ORGANISATION/ EXPLANATION
THIS GAME CAN BE PLAYED IN DIFFERENT SIZE AREAS DEPENDING UPON THE ABILITY (SKILL LEVEL) AND

CONFIDENCE OF PUPILS. IT CAN ALSO BE PLAYED AS A HALF PITCH IDEA WITH ONE GOAL AS OPPOSED TO
TWO AS A REGRESSION.

FOR THIS LAYOUT YOU WILL NEED A SMALL SIZED PITCH AREA, WITH TWO ADJACENT GOALS (THE GOAL MAY
BE CREATED USING CONES ETC.).

PUPILS WILL NEED TO BE IN TEAMS OF FOUR/ FIVE IF POSSIBLE AND OF EITHER GROUPED SIMILAR ABILITIES

OR COMPLETELY AND FAIRLY MIXED. TEAMS SHOULD WEAR MATCHING COLOURED BIBS WHERE AVAILABLE.

IF A NON-DOER/ INJURED PUPIL IS ABLE, THEY CAN BECOME A PITCH REFEREE/ OVERSEER FOR THIS ACTIVITY.
EACH TEAM WITH STAND ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE-LINES FROM ONE ANOTHER. TEAMS SHOULD DECIDE
AMONGST THEMSELVES PLAYER NUMBERS OF 1-4/5. THEY MUST HAVE ONE PLAYER OF EACH NUMBER.

ONCE THE TEAMS ARE PREPARED THE OVERSEER WILL ROLL THE BALL OUT AND CALL A NUMBER. THE TWO

PLAYERS WITH THAT NUMBER WILL THEN RUN ONTO THE PITCH AND ATTACK THE BALL, AIMING TO SCORE
IN EITHER GOAL.

ONCE A SHOT ON GOAL HAS BEEN TAKEN THE BALL RETURNS TO THE OVERSEER AND THE PLAYERS RETURN
TO THE SIDE LINE, AWAITING THE NEXT NUMBER TO BE CALLED.

TO MAKE THE GAME MORE COMPETITIVE AND TO FOCUS ON FINISHING AS A TEAM, PAIRS OF NUMBER MAY
BE CALLED, SO THAT THEY CAN ASSIST ONE ANOTHER IN THE POTENTIAL SCORING PROCESS.

MEETING THE NEEDS OF ALL LEARNERS


ALL:

MAY HAVE A FLOATING PLAYER THAT RESIDES PERMANENTLY ON PITCH AND AIDS ANY PLAYER
THAT REQUIRES ASSISTANCE.

MAY HAVE MULTIPLE GOALS ZONES TO SHOOT THROUGH AT VARIOUS INTERVALS ON THE PITCH.

MAY HAVE SET CONDITIONS SUCH AS PRESSURE ONLY, NO CONTACT TACKLING.

MAY BE ABLE TO PASS OUT TO THE SIDE LINE PLAYERS IN ORDER TO REPOSITION ON PITCH TO
RECEIVE THE BALL AND TAKE A SHOT ON TARGET.
MAY BE ALLOWED A SECOND HEAD START/ TO START WITH THE BALL AT THE FEET TO ALLOW
FOR HEIGHTENED CONFIDENCE AND INITIAL CONTROL.

SOME:

MAY HAVE SMALLER GOAL BOUNDARIES TO SCORE WITHIN (E.G. SEPARATE CONED GOALS
WITHIN THE LARGER SET GOALS).

MAY NEED TO TRAVEL INTO A SPECIFIC ZONE/ AREA (MARKED BY SPOTS/ THROW-DOWN
MARKERS ETC.) PRIOR TO ATTACKING THE GOAL AND ATTEMPTING A SHOT.

MAY HAVE AN OVERLOAD, SO WHERE A TEAM IS CONSIDERABLY STRONGER IT MAY BE 2 VS 1.


MAY NEED TO MAKE A SET NUMBER OF WIDE PASSES AND RECEIVES TO SIDE LINE PLAYERS
PRIOR TO TAKING A SHOT ON GOAL.

DIFFERENTIATION
MAY BECOME 2 VS 2 ON PITCH.
OVERSEER MAY ALSO CALL A GOAL TO SHOOT FOR, E.G. LEFT OR RIGHT.
MAY INTEGRATE SIDE LINE PLAYER FOR WIDE PASSES/ ASSISTS ETC.
GOAL AREAS MAY GET SMALLER AS GOALS ARE SCORED.
THERE MAY BE POINTS ZONES AVAILABLE WHERE IF THE BALL IS TAKEN
AND PASSED THROUGH THE ZONE EXTRA POINTS ARE AWARDED
PRIOR TO A SHOT ON GOAL.

A FLOATING ASSISTIVE PLAYER MAY BE INTRODUCED TO PERMANENTLY


RESIDE ON THE PITCH.
