Statement 2: Describe how this artifact demonstrates mastery of the identified standard(s).

InTASC 9/CEC 6: Prior to developing the EAR, I gathered relevant background

information from the students general education teacher and parents to identify significant
events in the students life or current situations in the classroom that may affect the formal
assessment results. In order to develop the Educational Achievement Report, various steps were
taken in order to gather relevant information regarding the examinee. An interview was
conducted with Sally Smith; the interview was conducted in order to gather relevant information
on her educational and family background. After the interview was conducted the next step was
the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the results of the Woodcock-Johnson. While
developing the Educational Achievement Report, I was able to analyze the assessment results in
order to identify the students academic areas of strength and need, providing suggestions for the
general education teacher to strengthen her instruction.
InTASC 9/CEC 6: While constructing the Educational Achievement Report, I engaged
in professional and ethical practices in compliance with applicable laws and policies while
maintaining confidentiality. I also obtained assistance as needed from professors and peers to
ensure that the formal assessment results that were included in the Educational Achievement
Report were interpreted correctly. Reflecting on the development of the Educational
Achievement Report allowed me to identify areas of improvement, guiding my professional
growth and strengthening my ability to analyze and interpret formal assessment results while
utilizing these results to identify gaps in student achievement in specific academic areas.

Statement 3: Describe how the knowledge, skills and disposition learned from completing this
artifact have a positive impact on student learning.

The student needs access to the general education curriculum and will be placed in their
appropriate least restrictive environment. By being place in the least restrictive environment the
student will interact with peers, and gain social relationships. This placement will help the
student learn how to engage and work with surrounding peers, which is a beneficial lifelong
skill. In order to improve math problem solving skills the student will receive related services
such as an occupational therapist. The student will learn how to properly solve math problems
with help from the occupational therapist related service. The student will be able to meet the
objective with the class by being able to learn how to properly solve math problems, which will
allow the student to stay engaged in the lesson. The student will not fall behind, missing valuable
information, because the student is concentrating on working on math problem solving abilities.
The student will read writing prompts and write based on the writing prompt in order to acquire
new vocabulary and writing fluency skills through an exposure to a variety of prompts. This will
help the student build a language-rich vocabulary that will help the student become a better
reader and writer.
