Task #1- Frequencies, bar chart (see attachment-2 pages)

Frequency table for the variable research areas is constructed.

Bar chart for the variable research areas is constructed.
The research areas with the highest number of articles have a total of 122 and the lowest
has a total of 12.

Task #2- Boxplots (see attachment-9 pages)

Boxplot with the research areas and the ratings of importance on 1-10 scale is

constructed.
In reference to page 9, the median is 13 and the standard deviation is 4.5 for the research

area. Interquartile range (IQR) is 13.

In reference to the boxplot data on page 2, there is a tinted box that represents the IQR
which is 50% of scores (Field, 2013, p.134). The middle 50% of the scores are more
spread out for the variables on the bottom because the box is much longer (Field,
2013, p.134). Within the box, there is a thick horizontal line, which shows the median
(Field, 2013, p.134).

Task #3- Chi- square test (see attachment- 4 pages)

The crosstab and variables research area and gender is constructed.

Chi-square test of the above variables was constructed and a bar chart as well.
According to the data illustrated in the attached document, there is a statistically
significant association between research area and gender. This is because the
probability is less than .05 (Field, 2013). If male is 1 and female is 2 the research

areas where women publish more frequently than their male colleagues is 2, 9, 10, 11,
13, 14 and 19.
Task #4- Comparing two means: t-test (see attachment- 2pages)

According to the data illustrated in the attached documents, female students are

better in statistics than male students because the females average score is higher.
The mean EXAMSCORE value of female is 58.57 and male is 54.15.
T-test for equality of means is constructed and according to the group statistics
box, the mean for sample 1(exam score) is 58.57 and sample 2 (exam score) is
54.15. With standard deviation for each of 13.278 and 14.281. The number N

varies and is 166 and 220. Therefore, condition 1 is higher than that of 2.
According to the independent samples test the value on the top row, is less than
0.5, which indicates that the variables of both conditions are different.

Task #5- Bivariate correlation (see attachment- 1page)

The correlation between the number of authors and the numbers of references is

tested.
The Pearson Correlation between the variables (number of authors) and references
is -.029 and the correlation is significant at 0.01 levels. Because the Pearsons is

close the 0 then the relationship between both variables is quite weak.
The correlation coefficient is the number between -1 and 1 and gives the
researcher the opportunity to interpret the strengths between two variables
