EDU 436 Portfolio 1. ACEI-2007.1: Development, Learning, and Motivation a. Received an A in EDU 201 b. Autobiographical Case Study in EDU 201 c. In EDU 331, I created an I Spy game for a particular students needs. I filled large, empty water bottles full of dried rice along with objects to find. There was a checklist included for the student to use while playing the game. 2. ACEI-2007.2.1: Reading, Writing, and Oral Language a. Received As in EDU 320, 321, and 423 b. Conducted a reading interest inventory to gather knowledge on students interests and likes c. Built a take home Family Literacy Packet that included activities and several learning opportunities that incorporated the book Bark George, Bark! The book was in a take home bag that included a puppet, the book, a flipbook, and several more engaging learning activities. 3. ACEI-2007.2.2: Science a. Maintaining an A average in EDU 318 b. I developed a science lesson based on seasonal changes of seeds/flowers to Kindergarteners. They had to label parts of the flower and know a sequencing chart based on The Tiny Seed. c. Currently in EDU 318, I am observing the moon every night to chart and become aware of moon phases. We are also doing the same thing with trees. 4. ACEI-2007.2.3: Mathematics a. Received an A in EDU 324 b. Conducted research of pet ownership in Putnam County. I surveyed 30 random people to find out how many pets they had, what types of pets they had, and the sex of the animal. I created numerous charts and graphs to display my findings; this was conducted in Math 104. An A was received on the research assignment. c. In Education 227, I created a UDL based off of a math lesson. I was given a math lesson that I had to change and add adjustments based off of a disability I was given. I received an A on the assignment.
5. ACEI-2007.2.4: Social Studies
a. Received an A in EDU 325 b. Conducted a 20 book Literature Log; I had to choose 20 different books and decide what Social Studies Standard they aligned with and why. c. Created a 5 day unit on Native American Language; received an A d. Conducted a book review on Rocket Boys in EDU 209 that discussed historical events- received an A 6. ACEI-2007.2.5: The Arts a. Received an A in ART 416 b. Over a 10-week period, I discovered an Art in the Community once a week. For every paper, I had to discuss the elements of each piece such as texture, feeling, elements, etc. c. Attended 5 major Cultural Events over one semester. The cultural events included: Art Walk, visiting art studios, and Mary Poppins The Musical. 7. ACEI-2007.2.6: Health Education a. Received an A in HHP 359 b. Completed a 7 week health journal that consisted of goals and daily food intake c. Presented a tri-fold Diabetes board that included the promotional campaign of Rethink Your Drink- which shows how much sugar is in normal day-to-day drinks such as soda, juice, chocolate milk, etc. 8. ACEI-2007.2.7: Physical Education a. Received an A in HHP 446 b. Received an A on a 5 day PE unit that incorporated the physical aspect of pool noodles everyday c. Attended a Health Expo where I gained information on different ways to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle for all ages. d. I created and taught a lesson to students that included an introductory activity, learning focus, and closing activity. 9. ACEI-2007.4: Assessment for Instruction a. In Education 331, I had to conduct a case study that assessed students individualized needs. Based off that information, I made decisions about my future teaching with that child. b. For Education 426, I taught the lesson Seasonal Changes of Flowers. To assess, the students had to label all parts of a flower and sequence events based off of a book. I also informally assessed the students throughout the entire lesson.
c. In Education 316, I created a 3 day unit on the Civil Rights Movement. I
conducted a pre and post-test for the unit. I gave the same exact tests at both times to receive accurate data. 10. ACEI-2007.5.1: Professional Growth, Reflection, and Evaluation a. Attended KDP Convocation 2015 in Orlando, Florida where I received a numerous amounts of educational growth and experiences. b. Member of NSTA where I constantly gain up to date knowledge on Science in the classroom through emails, magazines, etc. c. 3rd semester as an executive officer for Kappa Delta Pi- Lambda Zeta Chapter. d. I have completed Read Aloud training. e. I have attended several educational workshops, such as SCOPE and Smart Board Training. 11. ACEI-2007.5.2: Collaboration with families, colleagues, and community agencies a. Participated in Math Night at Bridgeview Elementary; I assisted families and students in constructing a tower made of marshmallows and toothpicks. b. Attended a county school board meeting. c. Presented a tri-fold board at KDP Convo 15 that displayed community service, fundraising, and group enrichment activities for Educators. d. Creation of parent-teacher communication form
