20years.Therefore,youarebasicallyaproatclassroommanagement.Youhave
beenassignedtobeamentorforafirstyearteacherthatisteachingthesamegradeas
you.Asahelpfultipforthenewteacher,youneedtocreateatop10effective
methodsofclassroommanagementlist.Explaineachtipinthepaperyouaregoingto
givethenewteacher.Youneedtohavethepaperoftipsfortheclassroomteacher

4. AssessStudentLearning:Ingroupsoffour,youwillbegivenalessonplanthatis
intheWVSUformat.However,Ihavetakenouttheobjectives,thestatestandards,
andnationalstandards.UsingthecorrectsubjectandgradelevelofCSOs,decideon
whichonesfitthelessonbest.YouarerequiredtohavetwotothreeCSOsinthe
lesson.Makesuretheyalignwithyourassessmentandproceduresaswell.Justify
yourreasoning.
5. NewerApproachestoTechnology:Youmustcreatealessonthatinvolves3
differentusesoftechnologythroughout.Itcanbeaflippedlesson,abrainbreak,an
assessmentonacomputer,etc.However,the3usesmustenhanceyourlessonto

provideenrichmentandhigherorderthinkingforyourstudents.Inanarrative,
explainyourreasoningforchoosingthe3differentuses.
6. StudentFocusedEducator:Inyourfieldplacement,allowstudentstodecideon
someguidelinestheyneedtofollowintheirclassroom.Insteadofthestudents
beingtoldtherulesoftheclass,allowthemtoputintheirownvoiceandmakeup
someguidelinesoftheirown.Howeveriftheycomeupwithaguideline,theymust
givereasonastowhytheclasswouldbenefitfromitandtheoutcome.Giveroomfor
debateanddiscussion.Aftertheguidelinesarecomplete,allowstudentstohelpbuild
arewardssystem.Onceagain,theymusthaveappropriatereasoning.Thefinalsayof
theguidelinesandrewardssystemwillalldependontheteacher.Afterthetwolists
arecomplete,allowyourstudentstowritethemonposterboardstohangupinthe
class.Bydoingthisinyourownclassroom,itshowsyourstudentsthattheirvoice
mattersandtheyareyourmainfocus.Bepreparedtobringpicturesofyourstudents
posterstodiscussinclass.
7. RoleModel:Inpublicschools,therearecertainsituationsorconfrontationsthat
teacherssometimesgetthemselvesintowhetheritisanargumentwithanother
teacher,notagreeingwithaprincipalsdecision,oretc.Somesituationscanbemore
difficultthanothershowever;youstillhavetobearolemodelforyourstudents.In
pairs,youwillreadthegivensituationorscenarioandinaroleplay,actouthowyou
wouldhandlethesituationgiven.Anarrativeofexplanationabouthowyouhandled
thesituationisrequired.
8. MemberofaProfession:Asyouarefinishingupyourteachingdegreeandhoping
tofindtheperfectteachingjob,itisimportanttomakeyourselfknownandleave
goodimpressionsonprincipalsandtheschoolboards.Youarerequiredtoattendan
opencountyschoolboardmeetingandtakenotesofthingsthatwereprofessionalvs.
