1. ADDIE Model
This model
is one of
the older
models,
there are
many other
models that
are based
on this one.

ADDIE

BEST SUITED
FOR:
Large organisations
Cyclical planning
Training Based
Programs

LEAST SUITED
FOR:
Individualized
Education
Competency Based
Assessment

ADDIE EXAMPLE LESSON

Analysis: Students Analyze the problems that their local environment has
to determine creditable solutions such as sustainability.
Design: Determine learning goals based on student analysis and facilitate
the design of a product that could be developed to help the situation.
Develop: Develop benchmarks and structures to ensure research,
organization, and product comparison.
Implementation: Students work individually with the implicit
instruction that they need to document the process and develop the ideas
with in the provided framework.
Evaluation: Students will turn in production journal and final created
prototype of the product.

ASSURE Example Lesson

Analyze Learners: Use pre assessment to determine
technical skills and content knowledge in the area of design
production and product creation.
Standard: ISTE Standards for Students 1-6
Select strategies, technology, media & materials: After
the design challenge is presented students will be responsible
for creating a research plan as well as maintaining a
production journal that documents the process of creation.
The appropriate technology will also need to be researched
and a plan created that will highlight the skills acquisition that
will need to take place.

ASSURE Example Lesson

Utilize technology, media & materials: Each
students will be responsible for finding the online
training site of their choice and presenting it to the
instructor in the skills acquisition plan.
Require learner participation: Students will be
required to give multiple production updates to the class.
Evaluate & revise: Students will create surveys about
their products and presentations. They will use the data
to evaluate their own performance and propose changes.

Algo-Heuristic Theory
Theory says that all cognitive process can be
measured by algorithms.
Students are pushed to not only gain knowledge but
also to learn the algorithms and heuristics of
experts.

Algo Heuristic Sample Lesson

Evaluation of the Design Process.
Students will evaluate the step by sep instructions provided by
the MYP Design Curriculum. This will require the students to
break down the four steps of the design cycle and to evaluate
their effectiveness based on a pre determined set of criterion
that the class will create as a whole.
Students will need to create a series of IF/THEN Statements to
show how the same conclusions come from the design process
each time no matter what the product that is being created it.
They will log this into their design journals for peer evaluation.
