The Revelation Lost [Outline]

THESIS: We should not get our mind stuck on one side of the argument concerning science and
Christianity, because science can explain the happenings in the book of Revelations; but the
scientific explanations can cause us to dismiss the events in Revelations when they happen.
FORWARD
I.
This research paper is to show how the book of Revelations is plausible from the
viewpoint where God is real and exists as omnipotent, omnipresent being that has always been
and will always be.
A.
This allows us to say that the words in the book of Revelations are true, putting
aside the debate over whether or not God is real and the Bible truth.
II.
The reasons for doing this paper from this point of view is simply because of the limited
amount of time.
A.
Starting this paper from the debate over whether God is real would not only make
a long paper, but would also lead us away from the point of my research.
III.
Also need to address the fact that Revelations has parts that are purely focused on
spiritual things, politics, and war. I will briefly mention these aspects of the book of Revelations
to keep the chronological order of my paper.
A.
I do not plan on going to in-depth on any of these aspects. Even though they are a
major part of the book of Revelations.
B.
I feel that in doing this I will keep my report to a manageable size and keep my
focus on the science involved in the book of Revelations.
IV.
I do want to acknowledge the fact that the debate over the existence of God exists and has
implications to this work.
A.
No scientific evidence for the existence of God has been proven to exist. (quote
here to give credence to this statement.)
1.
One could say that the evidence for the existence of God is the
overwhelming amount of compounding complexity of all known things from the

smallest parts of quantum physics to the entirety of the universe and possible
other dimensions.
B.
Next we could take an agnostic point of view or that of many believers in other
religions. How can we know the words in the bible came from the one true God of
everything? How do we know it is not the imagination of many men to keep control over
the society?
1.
There is a ton of real history in the bible proven by archeological digs, and
confirmed in the histories of other cultures and religions.
2.
It all comes out to be up to the person who is reading to determine the
believability of its reading.
V.
Last point of contest to my research is that the incompatibility of science and religion.
(quote here to affirm statement)
A.
From the science point of view everything is about proven fact and religion has
led everyone astray, pointing to astronomy and evolution as their evidence.
1.
Science is about known facts and piecing together fragments left for the
finding. But what is proven today can change with the discovery of something
new. For instance, dark matter and its effects on time and space, or the ability to
check the DNA of fossil records to determine its species.
B.
From the religious point of view, they think science is out to disprove God and
with a hard stand will not dare to see if science can prove Gods existence.
1.
Great misunderstanding of scripture, along with the lack of education in
renaissance times led the church to believe the earth is flat and does not move.
Instead of admitting their lack of understanding in scripture, they position
themselves against scientific findings.
2.
Scriptures, such as 1 Corinthians 16:30, were used by the Roman Catholic
church at the time to prove their arguments about the Earth.
VI.
Going off in a different direction from my previous arguments against my research, I
need to address the fact that other scientific possibilities exist that can explain some of the
happenings in the Book of Revelations. I have chosen the examples given in my research paper
because I feel they fit best with the sequence of events.
VII. These are the main arguments against my research as I have found them by logical
reasoning, I believe we all understand that if there is no God or that the Bible is not the written
word of God, or that the God of the Bible is not the one true God of everything, then my research
is flawed.
A.
I want to state clearly that I do not see myself as an expert in either field of study
(theology or science). I see myself as a lay person who is attempting to make plausible
scientific sense of the prophecies found in the Book of Revelations.

BODY OF RESEARCH

I.
When we take the time to reconcile science with religion, we can see how science fits
within the pages of the Book of Revelations. Many parts of the vision John the revelator (author
of the Book of Revelations) had can be explained through science. This does not guarantee us the
ability to recognize the events that happen in Revelations. In fact, I believe, it causes us to
dismiss the events as nonbiblical.
A.
Let us look at some of the events that happen in Revelations to show evidence of
how science can give plausible explanation to what is being described.
1.
I am going to start off with the famed 4 horsemen of the apocalypse,
White, Red, Black, and Pale Horses.
a)
The white horse is the first seal to be opened (quote bible
scripture). This person is a conqueror, much like conquerors in other
times in history. Some examples of other types of conquerors we are
looking at are: Alexander the Great, Xerces, and Hitler.
b)
If it has happened before in the past, then it can happen again.
There isnt much science for this but there is a good chance at a new
conqueror. All we would really need to do is to read our history books to
see that we can repeat the past.
2.
The red horse is the second seal to be opened (quote bible for
clarification). This one is also not scientific in nature, but very plausible. All we
need to do is to watch the news channels or read the newspaper to see what is
happening around the world today. Many people will get caught up in the idea
that this is speaking of war, but it is talking about peace being removed from the
world.
a)
A world without peace is a world that has revolts, riots, civil wars,
murder, terror, general hatred for one another, intolerance of peoples
differences, on top of war. Again this is a plausible state considering we
are very close to that now.
3.
The black horse is the third seal (quote scripture). This deals mostly with
the economy and even though economics can be considered a science, it is not
what I am looking into. But it is a plausible fact that war and civil unrest, that the
economics of a country, and even the world, could be shaken. Mass inflation and
depression can be by-products of this atmosphere.
a)
If we look into our history books, we can see many times where
nations have gone bankrupt and their people in a massive depression. The
difference is now every country is basically economically bound to one
another, and if one country with a large economy fails, then the effects are
felt in the whole world economic system, and it could crash (quote to add
validity to statement).

4.
The pale horse is the fourth seal to be opened (quote bible scripture). If
you will notice it says that power was given to them, meaning all 4 horses, with
that, it is extremely plausible to see a 4th part of men dies from war, hunger, and
other forms of death.
5.
The 5th seal deals with martyrs. Again no real science here but looking at
history. You can see how people have been killed for their beliefs and their
religions many times throughout history, which makes this a plausible statement.
6.
The 6th seal is finally one that deals with really good science. There will be
a complete lunar and solar eclipse within the same year.
a)
Missiles and air strikes, because of the wars, the ozone can be
damaged by the by-product of chemicals used in war (quote to prove
statement).
b)
The rich men and the world leaders will hide from the attacks in
their bunkers. Strong earthquakes will cause the Earth to wobble on its
axis.
c)
Leaders begin to think its possible that t is the beginning of the
end. Due to the ozone being gone, and its effects on the oceans and
stratosphere, along with pollutants in the air, our atmosphere reaches
equilibrium and we will have no wind for an undisclosed amount of time
(quote to prove statement).
7.
The 7th seal (quote bible for clarity) has more awesome science revealed in
scripture dealing with heavenly bodies and their effects on the Earth.
a)
A comet is coming in a trajectory that will impact Earth and the
animals sense the danger, therefore, the animals hide, be still, and are
quiet just before it hits. Because this is a global danger, it is reasonable to
assume that all animals around the world will react the same way.
b)
As comet approaches, we try to change the trajectory with nuclear
weapons, but only manage to break it into 2 large pieces with many
fragments. The rumblings, thunder, lightning, and earthquakes could be
the coordinated world attack on this comet.
8.
We now move on to the seven trumpets in Revelations. A continuation of
the last seal, the first trumpet shows the increase in severity of the event (bible
quote).
a. These are the small fragments of the comet hitting our ozone free
atmosphere and earth. Only a 3rd of the earth will be damaged and
whatever green grass is left after the drought will be burned.
9.
The 2nd trumpet deals with the smaller piece of the comet and is the first to
hit the earth (quote bible).
a. It hits the oceans and creates a large tsunami which kills 1/3 of the
living creatures in the water and destroys 1/3 of all ships. All the dead

animals in the water make the oceans a breeding ground for blood
algae (site reference for blood algae).

10.
The 3rd trumpet is the larger piece of the comet. The poisonous elements
of the comet are in our air and settle on the land and the rivers. This causes the
waters to become poisonous with cyanide, which is found in most comets.
11.
The 4th trumpet is all the debris thrown into the air and it is so thick that a
1/3 of the light from the sun, moon, and stars is blocked out from reaching us.
12.
The 5th trumpet is one that I found to be fun and interesting because it
deals with technology (bible quote).
a)
This could be insect drones! Being used as a weapon against
people. You can see them in ranks. They have human faces because they
are controlled by a human. You have to remember that a person in ancient
Patmos would not know how to describe an insect drone, so he would use
words that he knew to best describe what it was he was looking at.
13.
The 6th and 7th trumpets deal mostly with politics, the implementation of a
world government, the possibility of a robotic police form that looks like their
leader. And is able to implant microchips under the skin as means of controlling
their money.
14.
We are now moving onto the seven bowls of wrath which are the last
plagues before judgement (insert bible quote). The 1st bowl could possibly be
from a defect from a malfunction of a microchip which can cause painful sores on
the skin.
15.
The 2nd and 3rd bowl I honestly do not have any idea of how or why they
may occur.
a)
These maybe explained or seen as remnants from the comet and
other pollutants utterly destroying the life in the water. This could also
lead to an algae bloom which would kill the creatures in the rivers.
16.
The 4th bowl, which is the super-hot sun, which maybe a solar flare hitting
an ozone free atmosphere (quote ozone reference).
17.
The 5th bowls great darkness could be the loss of all electricity due to the
solar flare and this flare could agitate the sores from the defective microchips
implanted.
18.
The 6th bowl describes the state of the Earth after many years of intense
heat from the lack of ozone protection. The drought could be so severe that most
rivers and lakes dry up. This bowl also makes reference to the last World War.
19.
The 7th bowl, will require more research as in how science can fit in here.
This bowl has a massive earthquake and large hailstones being tossed about.
B.
I hope this has given a good representation of how science can possibly explain
what is going on in the Book of Revelations. Like I had previously stated in the Forward,
there are more than one scientific explanations for some of these events.
II.
The great divide is science is not compatible with faith based religions (quote to give
validity to statement).

A.
State some reasons why we believe science and religion do not come together.
Then relate this thinking to how people will not believe Revelations is happening if it is
scientifically possible.
1.
Lead with a question to set up the next section, such as what if Revelations
was scientifically possible? Would you believe that it had all been prophesied
about thousand years ago if it was happening around you?
B.
Write an awesome closure for this research project. Do your best to connect the
dots and to show that there is no way to be 100% positive of anything if it is not
witnessed and understood by someone.

Professor Bak,
For some reason my formatting and font is going nuts and I cannot get it to fix. The header
