Day 6 Acts of Kindness

JUST BECAUSE
A texting mix-up over a newborn
resulted in a heartwarming
moment between strangers.
Tallahassee, Florida, man Dennis
Williams received a group text on
Saturday, March 19, informing
him that a couple was having a
baby.
"We are at the hospital. Having a
baby today!" the text read,
followed by, "She has dilated to
between 5-6."

JUST BECAUSE
"Congrats lol but I think someone
got the wrong number," Dennis
wrote back after he and his
brother Deorick Williams read the
messages.
But that text went unheeded,
and soon enough, the pair
received a picture of the
newborn, to which Dennis
responded, "Well I don't know
y'all but me and the boys will be
thru to take picture with the
baby."

JUST BECAUSE
The new parents on the other end
of the line realized their mistake
and apologized, but the Williams
brothers insisted on showing up
with gifts.
The family, Lindsey and Mark
Lashley and their newborn son
Cason Knox, later posted on
Facebook about the whole thing
themselves, writing, "What a
blessing these two guys were to
our family. They were so sweet
and kind to do this! You 2 are
great guys and thank you for
giving to someone you didn't
know! If we all only had this kind

The philosophy of Pay It Forward is that
through acts of kindness among
strangers, we all foster a more caring
society. In the book, Reuben St. Clair, a
social studies teacher in Atascadero,
California, challenges his students to
"Change the world." That's something we
would all like to do, right? What if we
could change the world, even in some
small way? One of the students in the
class is Trevor, who takes the challenge
to heart. As he goes about his day, he
wonders what he could do, just a twelve
year old student, to change the world. He
starts by showing kindness to a stranger,
and from there, moves on to the next
person he can help.

good deeds for others in
response to a good deed that
one receives. Such good deeds
should accomplish things that
the other person cannot
accomplish on their own. In this
way, the practice of helping one

OKLAHOMA Each of us has a gift we
can use to help others. John Price found
his after a 45-year career in the shoe
industry.
He used his knowledge and contacts to
start a shoe mission, one that has
provided over 30,000 pair of shoes to
Oklahoma kids free of charge.
The kids go bananas, Price said.
They love it.

And, thats why Chris Jones nominated Price for
Pay it 4Ward.
All the things he learned in the shoe business
about how to buy in bulk and make good deals
allowed him to use those talents in retirement to
provide shoes for kids in need, Jones said.
