Post-Teaching
Reflections
The students really liked the kahoot activity. The element of competition made them
more engaged in the lesson and committed to doing their best on the quiz. I would definitely
include the kahoot in my lesson if I taught it again. Most students finished their exit sheet
worksheet about 4-5 minutes before class ended and I did not have enough for them to do until
class ended. Next time, I will make sure I have a productive activity lined up for them to do if
they finish early. I also had a video to show the class. It buffered for a couple minutes but
eventually played. Next time, to save time, I will have any videos pre-loaded prior to class to
save time in case they have to buffer.
Overall, I thought the lesson went well. I was comfortable teaching the lesson and my
transitions were smooth. I was fortunate to have a quiet and attentive class, so the classroom
management aspect of the lesson was not difficult in this particular lesson.

Data-Based Decision Making

21 students took the kahoot quiz. Two students got all ten questions correct. Three
students got nine questions correct. 11 students got seven or eight questions correct. Two
students got six questions correct and three students got four questions correct. Overall, the class
had a 73% average of correct answers. 10 students missed number nine (Which of the following
PEDs is legal?) This shows me that I need to emphasize this when giving my next lecture. I
quickly hit on it during this lesson. Twelve students missed Which of the following is not a
long-term effect of PED use? I believe that they did not see the not in the question and
answered too quickly, giving a long-term effect of PED use. I went over this part of the lesson
extensively. 11 students said the HGH is a safe alternative to steroids, which is untrue. I did not
say this during my lesson, but I was seeing if the students could make inferences based on what
they learned about HGH from the lesson and realizer it was not safe. Only 10 were able to do so,
so next time I will go over it better in my lesson.
