Competency 8

Working with Domestic Violence victims, one of my responsibilities is

interacting with the clients at the shelter and making them feel as
comfortable and as welcomed as possible. I interact with the clients
daily at the shelter, and I learn more about their background as each
day passes. I get to know them at their own pace, and we work on
goals that the client thinks is best for themselves. One client has been
trying to find a job, and found one this Monday. She is new to the area
and told me she has her CAN license, but needs to have it renewed. I
was able to help for with resources to find a place to retake the test and
also receive the funding for the test. She is meeting her goals one at a
time.
