ACTION PLAN

To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, student teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of first, second, and third field
experience with input from their cooperating teacher and/or the University supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each field experiences
evaluation, links each field experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement, and forms an agenda for discussion between the student
teacher, the cooperating teacher and University supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent field experience. For First Field Experience only
(excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this field
experience:
I would like to improve my skills in Professional Competency 7: To adapt his or her teaching to the needs
and characteristics of students with learning disabilities, social maladjustments or handicaps.
I would also like to further improve my skills in:
Professional Competency 3: To develop teaching/learning situations that are appropriate to the students
concerned and the subject content with a view to developing the competencies targeted in the programs of

I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:


Professional Competency 7: I will try to take part in the development of an IEP for a coded student.
I will develop secondary objectives and lessons for students who have been modified.

Professional Competency 3 and 4: I will do more research on the subject before I teach it to look
for more ways to link the information to student interests as well as find the answers to potential
questions that students may have.
