Overview & Purpose - Students will practice being able to convey what they want a
scene to look like through writing. It is important that students be able to follow written
directions (a script) and also be able to write one. Being able to convey dramatic cues
and characterization on paper is important.

Have the students split off

into groups and explain the
assignment
Students must write a
script/outline of a television
episode ( real or fictional)
The script must include at the
minimal a character list, plot
outline and the setting
A group should be able to look
at the sheet of paper and be
able to perform the episode
Once all of the scripts are
handed in your group will be
randomly assigned another
groups script to perform

Listen to the teacher instructions

and work collaboratively with your
group

After all of the presentations

we will have a class discussion
about what went well and
what went bad
Students will have this
opportunity to talk about what
would have helped so they
could have better performed
the piece
The lesson went alright
It might have been better if
the students had been able to
help with the groups who got
their script to perform
