Students were able to identify the headings and construct a proper
resume. Students were able to use the vocabulary of the topic.

Evidence of Self-Assessment

In walking around while students were creating their resume


online, I could see most students had a basic understanding of the
concepts. Some students seemed to need a bit more help in
connecting what they have done with putting it into words on a
resume.
Part III: Improve your proficiency for the HTSB Standard
Sub Standard to Improve
Does Candidate accurately and effectively communicate
concepts, processes and knowledge in the discipline, and use
vocabulary and academic language that is clear, correct and
appropriate for learners? (4.1)
What to Improve?
In the future, I would stress more of the vocabulary. I would also
have students use a specific job announcement to use to write
their resume. It would help them connect what they need to put
into the resume.
Research at least 2 resources
In my discussion with my mentor, we discussed the need to
on how to improve proficiency. connect with the vocabulary a bit more. He suggested using a
specific job announcement, so the students could have something
to launch from for the objective.

Implementation of Findings

I had a discussion on this issue with Dr. Combs. She has taught
for over 25 years. She recommended using games with the
students to get them involved with the concepts as an
introduction. She also recommended using role playing. She
advised that the more actively involved the students are, the more
they absorb the concepts.
