Materials
Objectives
1. Students will listen to a story about fall leaves
2. Students will recognize places within the story
3. Students will create movement to accompany the falling
of leaves during the story
Activities/Procedures
1. Teach the song: The Leaf Mans got to go, where the
wind blows

2. Begin singing the melody demonstrating the words of the
song
3. Have the students listen for the places the leaves travel
4. Read the book with the addition of the song.
5. Ask students for places the leaves blow. (Past the
chickens, over the ducks and geese, etc)
6. Invite the students to create a way for the leaves to
travel when their part enters in the book. Assign each
student a location from above list.
Extensions/teaching tips
1. Hum the melody throughout the day
2. Invite students to solo the song after the first couple of
weeks
3. Invite students to bring in different types of leaves and
compare and contrast the leaves.
