Task 2 Objective

To observe beginnings, middle and endings of lessons and prepare yourself to


repeat the process. (Tables 3 to 6)
Note: Continue collecting information during the whole placement! Check Task 1 for
required documents!

Summary of Tasks:
1. Observe your teacher, take a 5 minute video and use questions and
guidelines below to write about your observation (Table 3). Do at least
2.
2. Observe and complete tables and/or answer questions about several
aspects of teacher-student interactions during the day. These will cover
punctuality, teacher response, lining up and how the teacher greets the
students (Table 4).
3. Observe your teacher at the end of the day (final 10 minutes). Use
guidelines in (Table 5) to complete your answers.
4. Start to plan your own teaching of a part of a lesson (beginning, middle
or end). Use guidelines in (Table 6) to do that. Discuss with your MST/
MCT and reflect on your work.

Task 2: Table 3 MST Observation - Take a video and complete your


observation(s)

Use the questions below as a guideline and to write your answers. Include
details as much as possible. Remember to include photos and/or videos (link
to website).

teacher make sure that the students
are prepared for the beginning of
the day or the end of the day.

Teacher know students ready for class when they sit and and
bring whole their materials and wait teacher start and talk to
him. She know they are prepared for the end of the day when
they feel tired and they clean everything to leave.

Pace and flow: How does she


make sure all students are
involved and attentive?

When they make noise and teacher want them be attention,


She stands silently and don't take or answer anything and cross
her hands, then they feel and be attention, but when she
explain something just she rise her voice.

Transitions: How does she get the


students attention?

ringing bell. She have a small bell, she shake it when


she want them to be attention.

 How does she keep students


attention?

she don't let them do anything like when she want them to
answer the worksheet, first teacher give whole instruction
and explain it then she give it to students.

How does she move them to the


next task?

She use the 5E like we learn. First she engage them,


then explore, next explain, and elaborate, finally
evaluate. she move it between them like flow motion
like teacher should give student everything link to other.

Behaviour: How does she deal


with challenging behaviour?

if in class has bad behavior like gossip, first teacher will


ignore the student, in second time she will till her stop it
please, then she will punish her like take one Excellent
point from good points board.

Encouragement: How does she


interact with students/as a group/
individually e.g. praise, selfconfidence, humour, and support?

Teacher has many style to Encourage students, she had


groups and individually. Of course if student did
something well she will praise her like say excellent, well
done, you are super. Also she use good points board, she
has two, one for groups, and the other for individual point.

I f some student make some thing bad like: talk when teacher explains the lesson or make noise
or came late to class, she use non verbal like take one point from group list its like punishment
for all group to next time no one talk to other , or give it her a point to put it in individual list.

There are no line up outside the classroom because students not arrival in same time.

Inside the class


What does she say/do?
After they finish the class, teacher said: line up please then all students make line behind the
door, teacher said also: did you put your chair in his place , and did you clean your disk?
When they leave the class teacher said: bye, see you tomorrow. Sometime she remind them if
they have test or homework to do it.

Greetings:
How does she get the students attention?
Teacher have bell, when she want them to be attend just ding the bell, whole students leave
everything and whole eyes on teacher.
Also sometime when the student make noise when she speak, just she rose his voice, they
understand that mean be quiet.

Where is the teacher standing?
In front of the board, sometimes in meddle of classroom, she walk between groups.

How does the teacher introduce a new task? (what does she say?)
Give them game link it to the task, like puzzle, or hangman.
She said: Today we will learn a new thing and its some thing easy.

Task 2 Table 5: End of the day observation:

Observe the final 10 minutes of the day. What does the teacher ask the
children to do:

Give homework.
Clean the room.

What does the teacher say to farewell the children?


There are still 5 minute, if you want to do your homework now, do it, its better. Also she said:
put you chair well.

What does she do?


She check it if whole the chair on the disk, and the classroom is clean.

How do the children leave the room?


Everyone together.
