description of the character you will role-play and a description of your role-play partner. Walk around the
classroom and talk to your classmates until you find your partner. Together, prepare a two- to three-minute
conversation where you meet and get to know each other. Include as much vocabulary and grammar from
this lesson as possible. Act out the conversation in front of the class. Be creative!

Time: 30 minutes
Resources: Role-play cards
Instructions: Photocopy the role-play cards and cut out as many as needed. Give each student a

different card, making sure each one has a match, and tell them to walk around the classroom and
talk to their classmates until they find their role-play partners. Partners should prepare a two- to
three-minute conversation in which they meet and get to know each other using vocabulary and
grammar from this lesson. Make sure all students participate. Tell them to be prepared to act out the
conversation in front of the class.
You can vary the activity by asking students to film their conversations and bring them to class.
