(B,D,E,F,M,N,P,R), the caterpillar letters (C,G,O,Q) and the centre starting

Jack presented a book talk on Farm Alarm, a Team Umizoomi book and Domenic
shared Baby Bear ,Baby Bear, What Do You See? with us. Both did an excellent job!
Miss Mason read us a Blue Spruce story and exchanged our books.
Gym: We worked on ball skills. We worked in pairs while kneeling on mats to do
various drills to work on ball control. We also used cones to catch smaller balls and
used larger balls to do throwing and catching drills against the wall.
We also worked with Mrs. Boughners class on our Dance Fest Dance which is
upcoming on Thursday May 5.
Religion: We celebrated new signs of life. We looked for signs of new life on our
Nature walk.

Miss Angenent also did a lot of work with individual gifts that the children possess.
She showed a Lindsey Sterling subway video. At the end of the video, Lindsey talks
about individual gifts. Miss Angenent sat with each child and made a gift box of
their gifts.
Science: We celebrated Spring weather and the signs of Spring. We went on our
Nature walk and found some of these signs of Spring.
In Art: we had no formal art this week
In Music, Drama and Dance: Miss Angenent continues with Musical Lunches and
dance parties. Miss Angenent read several books about music and how we can
express what we hear.
In Mathematics: We continued learning 2-D shapes square, rectangle, triangle,
circle, oval, diamond, hexagon, pentagon, rhombus , octagon and the trapezoid. We
went on a SHAPE walk and used peg boards and elastics to form the shapes.
In Personal and Social Development: We talked about the importance of putting
oneself in the proper mindset to learn while on the carpet. We talked about how
this is our own responsibility.
Using the Lindsey Sterling video, Miss Angenent talked with the children about
gifts and how we are all different how our lifestyles are different: the food we
eat, where we live and who we live with. They also watched the video once and
discussed what they saw and then they watched it again with the purpose of seeing
something they didnt see the first time then they discussed how sometimes we
can see something one way and then see it another way.
We had a Roots of Empathy visit with baby Alicia. She was sooooo much fun!
Weeellllll she was until Miss Angenent hid her mom, Yolanda, under a blanket for a
demonstration of object permanence.Baby Alicia didnt think THAT was very
funny and gave Miss Angenent THE BEST stink eye to tell her so! We talked
about reading body language and how we can tell how people feel.

In Inquiry/Directed Play: Before our Nature walk, we discussed what we might

see. During the walk, we talked a lot about what we saw and heard. We identified
several signs of spring.
During inquiry time, several played school and pretended to be teachers. They even
had their own book talks!!! They made calendars.
