To: Whom It May Concern

It is truly a remarkable pleasure to have the opportunity to write a letter of recommendation on behalf
Yamilet Valdovinos. In my sixteen years of teaching, I have seen many students come and go, but I have
only seen very few with the exceptional writing talent, the linguistic ability and the intellectual gifts that
Yamilet possesses. I had the chance to work with her for a year, and during this time, Yamilet displayed
an array of sterling qualities that will highlight her wherever she goes in life.
As I stated before, I worked with Yamilet last year when she was an 11th grader and she was enrolled in
my English Class for english and quickly I realized that I did not have in Yamilet another regular student.
We educators, put a lot of emphasis on lifelong learners. Yamilet Valdovinos turns out to be such student.
Quiet and reserved by nature, it takes time for people to truly see her and understand how Yamilet
operates. In the last two semesters, she was one of my most impressive students. As part of my English
course, she was a star. Her tranquil and serene behavior may be misinterpreted by some people, but make
no mistake about it. Underneath that quiet calm attitude, one finds a student who hungers for a real and
meaningful sense of education. She reads with a purpose, writes with a passion, and debates from the
heart. Last year, as part of my English Class, I could always find Yamilet trying to improve, always trying
to find an area where she could get stronger and always questioning the topic or the teacher, in unique and
genuine search for more knowledge or better understanding. And this is exactly what separates Yamilet
from the rest of the students. She is genuinely interested in growing mentally, in developing emotionally
and in expanding socially, but she is not only interested in improving as a student. Yamilet is sincerely
interested in growing, developing and expanding more as a human being that anything else in life.
I have no doubts when I tell you that Yamilet will shine bright and long wherever she goes in life because
this young lady has displayed an impressive array of qualities that allow her to make her own fire. Among
her many achievements you will find that she has made the Honor Roll a couple of years in a row, as well
as the Principals Honor Roll because she maintained a 3.0 GPA while maintaining a very ambitious
school schedule. In addition she has managed to maintain this excellent academic level while working as
a babysitter since the 8th grade and as a cashier for an extended period of time. Another aspect that
displays some of Yamilets giving spirit and unselfish character is her constant community involvement.
She has volunteered to help people around on campus. These are some reasons why she is greatly
respected by peers and staff at our humble school. She is well liked and well thought of because of the
quality and outstanding student, the impressive and charismatic young lady, and the intellectual and
humane individual that Yamilet Valdovinos simply is.
I Highly recommend Yamilet without reservation whatsoever. She is the kind of student we, educators
dream about. She is serious, driven, motivated, and talented and has a great attitude towards work and
school. If you or your fine institution is truly interested in working with productive and well-rounded
people who truly bring something special to the table, then you will give Yamilet a chance to prove to you
what I am saying about her.
