land
The land in Australia is mostly low and flat. There is mostly green plants and
trees in the rainforest. It is mostly warm and rainy. The rainforest has the
tallest trees in Australia.
Australia's desert, which is called the outback, covers most of the center of
Australia. It is very dry and hot.
Australia is both a continent and a country. It is surrounded by water, it is an
island.
food
Most people in Australia eat steak, burgers, sausages, seafood,and
kangaroo meat.
Australians eat mostly barbecued food.
They eat a lot of red meat and vegemite. Vegemite is a dark brown
paste made of leftover yeast extract.
Many sheep,ranchers, dairy farmers and fruits growers live here
Explorers
Baudin Nicholas was an explorer who was a french naval officer. He
mapped the island of Tasmania and explored much of the coastline of
Australia.
Barrier reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef. The Great Barrier Reef is
a chain of more then 2,000 coral reefs.
The Great Barrier Reef is now a protected area.It provides shelter for
thousands of kinds of fish, dolphins, seaturtles, and sponges.
Fun facts
1.Ring of fire: is a string of volcanoes in the Pacific Ocean near
Australia. Volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur here when it forces
build up between earths tectonic plates at the edges.
2.Red Rocks are in the middle of the Austalian outback. It is a group of
gigantic rocks with caves inside.
3.Australia is the worlds 6th largest country.
4.Australia has a population of over 22 million people.
