Our Aim:
To help provide a bright, clean and safe
environment for teaching basic skills,
play and music to village children from
under one year to up to seven years old.
To provide employment for the local
women who will be able to teach in the
crche, cook meals in the kitchen, wipe
noses and sing and play with the kids.

The Project
Project Tshela will create a brand new crche with facilities for the people of
the whole Mokomotsie Village to use. It will be designed by a team of 28
second year architecture students from the University of Nottingham, and
built by us students and our tutors in the 4 week Easter break in 2016.
To be able to make the project a reality, we collectively need to raise

36,000
to pay for the materials for the build.
Each student has a commitment of personally raising at least 1,000
towards the project to be part of the live building team at Easter.

The Target
We pride ourselves on spending as much of our
fundraising locally in the communities around the
villages we build in - we have no big salaries or
expensive offices to fund, and we strive to source
materials as locally as possible to further support the
community.
Over 90% of funds raised in last years project were
spent on materials, tools, subcontracted works and
project logistics associated with daily transport to the
site.

PROJECT
All students pay for our own flights and
accommodation for the entirety of our stay.
