    Masksshouldblendsmoothlywiththeunmaskedareas,butifthisisnotthecasethenahightidemark
    appearsaroundtheareasthathadpreviouslybeenmasked.

    oppositesidesofdetailinanimage.Itiscausedbylightdiffractingwhenpassingthroughlensesin
    camerasorscanners,andismorelikelytoappeartowardsthecornersandsidesofanimage.

    noisesignal,thushidingit.Theproblemismostcommoninunderexposedcolournegativesasthetonal
    rangeislargerthantransparencies,whichhavedensershadowdetail.Aswithfringing,ifyoucannotsee
    theeffectviewedat100%thenthereisnoneedtoworry.
