Narrative (based on assessment data) of Student Learning:
Students overall were very successful in utilizing their technological skills through exploring the learning how to operate the Toon Doo site to create a
comic strip in Spanish from previous learned Spanish vocabulary. Students were able to demonstrate their learning in a very creative way. This
information was gathered from informal observation, exit ticket response, and the creation of the comic strip. All my students were very engaged and
helped one another if needed. By the end of the lesson, students were very excited to show each other their Toon Doo.

Self-reflection on the lesson.

I decided to teach this lesson, Digital Spanish comic strip to my Spanish one class because I wanted to my students to apply previously
learned Spanish vocabulary utilizing technology. I learned about Toon Doo and I explored a first on my own by creating a sample Spanish comic
strip. I was very excited to introduce this tool to my students because it was fun and I was able to show my creativity. I was very excited about this
Toon Doo lesson for I wanted to see what the students would create.
Waiting all week to do this lesson, it finally came. I started the lesson by passing out a Spanish comic strip as students walked into the
classroom. I could tell based on my students facial the expression that they were very excited to read the Spanish comic strip that I had created.
Students were eagerly asking me how I created the digital comic strip because it looked very professional. Before began I asked my students if they
ever heard of Toon Doo and they all replied no. I students were all asking me if they would be able to create one under own. I replied very excited
yes. I showed my students how to sign-in and navigate through the Toon Doo website.
As I reflect on my lesson with my Spanish students by utilizing Toon Doo to create a Spanish comic strip I feel that it went very well. It did take
a little longer than I expected asked the students added a lot of details to their comic strips. I have to say that all my students were motivated and
engaged in creating the Spanish comic strip. As always, I was very impressed with how quickly my students learned to use and navigate through the
website. The thing that surprised me the most was that my students worked collaboratively with each other by helping one another with feedback and
suggestions using the website tool. Students work majority of the time creating their comic strip. I walked around the room monitoring and providing
students with feedback and I didnt see any issues. I was happy and excited to see the quality and detail the students put into creating their comic strip.
Overall, this was a really good lesson I had no negatives results about this lesson. My objectives were met. I plan incorporating this tool with
my other classes as well. This lesson provided me with the feedback in how students are using their Spanish vocabulary in the content. Even though I
have no negatives results about this lesson, in the future instead of printing all the comic strips I will have students save it to their flash drive. I will
mostly certainly implement this lesson again next year with my students.
