Administration and Supervision

7.Knowledge of how to develop policies and mission statements to maintain and

improve program quality.

13.Understanding of the rationale and methods for involving staff in decision

making.

This comes in by thoroughly explaining the vision and the mission of the company.
Also inform the employee about the services we provide to the families and the
community. At Harvest Child Development Center our mission is to teach Christian
values and lifelong learning fundamentals in a safe, and caring environment
children enjoy while being away from home.

Thoroughly explaining the mission and the vision of the company is important
because, the employee should have a sense of what the company is trying to
accomplish, how company values work toward fulfilling the company mission, and
how social responsibility and civic activities impact the community.

The vision of Harvest Child Development is a team partnering with parents to

provide an unsurpassed loving and nurturing, extended-family environment through
which our children will be ensured of having the greatest opportunities to become
responsible members of their own families and leaders in our society.

We strive to reinforce the values children learn from their parents at home. Our
principles-based learning focuses on the moral aspect of life, emphasizing love,
empathy, honesty, responsibility, citizenship, God fearing spirituality, and respect
for oneself and others. We feel that it so important for the foundations of leadership
in the community, and at home to be laid from a very early age.

Harvest Child Development Philosophy is Theres no place like home. We strive to

reinforce the values that children learned from their parents, by building a
relationship with the families and working as a team to provide the children with
Christian values and educational learning in a safe environment.

One of the ways to incorporate staff into the orientation is allowing staff to give
their input. Staff members can think of information that can be very helpful to a new

staff member. Directors arent in the classroom daily, but the co-workers are, and
being able to make a new staff member aware of procedures and information that
can help their development and work performance daily as a teacher is very
important.

Having the staff input also makes the staff also feel like a part of the hiring process.
Another reason is to create team cohesiveness by helping employees have a better
understanding of the challenges and components of another employees job.
