Action Plan (Future goals setting/planning strategies):

How do you intend to use your data to improve/maintain your program(s)?
From the assessment taken by the students, overall the students agree that their various
leadership skills have improved with participating in this program. From the Passports
collected from the students about their overall experience, which includes learning outside of
the program facilitated by Disney, students have gained a sense of cultural competency,
creativity, innovation, and vision by participating in the program facilitated by Disney and by
their participation within the program overall. When asked if students found this program to be
a beneficial resource for them as students at WCU, 97.5% agreed this was an extremely
valuable resource that they are provided and 97.5% would recommend this program to other
students. A majority of the students who attended this program attended because of the
entertainment value, but that did not lessen the value of students attending also to gain more
leadership skills. I feel this opportunity allows Western to reach out to more students by
enticing them with attending a program at Disney but then reels them in with the amount of
information they gain from participating in the leadership aspect. The demographics show that
the participants within the program are generally spread out through 1st 4th year students,
with 52% of the attendees within the 17-19 year old range. Of the 83 student participants,
approximately 27.5% of them are already involved within either the Freshman Leadership
Institute or the Leadership Institute on campus.
From the information provided by the students, I feel confident enough to suggest that this
program was an overall success in terms of the skills and information they acquired through
the leadership portion of this program. I feel as if the information gathered from within the
Passport was also very in-depth and involved critical thinking from the students in regards to
diving deep into various scenarios. From a planning perspective, this program went very
smoothly and no incidents or snags in the process came up.
