PREREQUISITES TO BECOMING AN
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
First you must obtain a Bachelors degree which requires four years of
schooling
Upon that you will be accredited by the Accreditation Board for
Engineering and Technology
Next in United States of America all engineers are required to hold a
license
Which the individual must pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
exam offered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and
Surveying

CAPABILITIES YOU MUST HAVE BEING AN

MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Imagination having a creative mind is very vital
Active listening being able to listen to the speaker and give feedback
Knowing arithmetic - engineers use the principles of calculus, statistics,
and other advanced subjects in math for troubleshooting in their work

CAPABILITIES YOU MUST HAVE BEING AN

MECHANICAL ENGINEER CONTINUED
Mechanical abilities engineers are able to apply basic engineering
concepts and mechanical processes to the design of new devices and
systems
Problem solving skills being able to conclusively diagnostic scientific
discoveries and use them to design and build useful products

NORMAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR A MECHANICAL

ENGINEER
Test and develop prototypes
devices design
Supervise the manufacturing
process for the device
Modernize mechanical and
thermal devices or subsystems,
using analysis and computeraided design

MECHANICAL ENGINEERS TYPICAL WORK

Most mechanical engineers work full time, and about 1 in 3 worked

more than 40 hours a week in 2014

MECHANICAL ENGINEERS SALARY

The median annual wage for mechanical engineers was $83,590
The lowest 10 percent earned less than $53,640
The highest 10 percent earned more than $128,430

MECHANICAL ENGINEERS CAREER OUTLOOK

Employment in 2014 was 277,500
Mechanical engineers are projected to grow 5 percent from 2014 to
2024
Projected employment in 2024 is estimated to be 292,100
Mechanical engineers are projected to experience much faster than
growth in engineering services
Thats because mechanical engineers will be involved in various
manufacturing industries, particularly transportation equipment

KINDS OF WORK MECHANICAL ENGINEERS

CAN CARRY OUT
Aerospace industry
Automotive industry
Chemical industry
Marine industry
Defense industry
Pharmaceuticals industry

CLOSING
Anything that involves force, energy or motion involves mechanical
engineering
Because mechanical engineers design and work with all types of
mechanical systems, careers in this field span across many industries
So if you want to be Mechanical Engineering go ahead dont be afraid,
there are endless possibilities of things you can do
