Is Genetic Enhancement an Unacceptable Use of Technology?
What is the major or theses, or point, of the Yes side?
The political philosopher Michael J. Sandel thinks that utilizing genetic technology to
enhance performance, design children, and perfect human nature is a flawed attempt at human
mastery, and banishes appreciation of life as a gift.
What is the major thesis, or point, of the No side?
Physician Howard Trachtman states that the medical community should embrace
enhancement as a never ending quest for health that recognized that perfection can never ne
achieved.

Scientist have work out with a synthetic gene, introducing it into muscle cells mice,
which it avoid the process of becoming progressively worse and move back the nature of the
muscle not let it decline or deteriorate more.
Scientist handle and control a memory linked gene, which it made mice more intelligent,
they introduce the gene to an unborn mice and when they born, they have showing a quick
intelligence remembering things in a short time that the normal mice.

Human needs to accept children the way they are, and appreciate the good talents and
defects the nature of human has, not trying to perfect them producing a product do humans
would like to have.
Athletes and artist should work out to try to acquire and develop their skills, and also
parents should find ways to discover the talents of the kids and work from there to become better
into their natural aptitude or skills.

The medical community should see enhancement as a way to keep looking for ways into
their researches to keep humans healthy instated of trying to make humans perfection.
Enhancement is a way to humans nature to perfect their imperfection making humans
better in their undesirable features.

A fallacy can be that the author is trying to say that humans can be perfect as a super
hero, that humans can be design to be famous, smart, admired and idealized, which I believe that
that probably we handle and control perfecting something like that, but I believe that everything
has their own consequences, that there is not perfection.

In my opinion, I think that the No side doesnt have a misleading statements.

The No side, because as the physician Howard Trachtman states that medical
community should embrace enhancement as a never-ending quest for health that recognizes that
perfection can never be archived, I have the same opinion, the medical groups need to focus on
finding cures for all the diseases that currently exist, instead of wasting time trying to change
human nature into human creation, because I believe that perfection do no exit.
Overall, which author impressed you as being the most empirical in presenting his or her
thesis?
The Yes side,

because the author presents the information trying to impress and

convince the reader, that genetic enhancement is a way to have all the requirement, elements,
qualities and characteristics as good as it is possible to have humans perfection.
For the author that you think relied more on unsupported statements, and less on scientific
findings.
Trachtman, because I think that he is supporting his ideas in terms more fundamental
base on his nature of knowledge, having a calm attitude toward the issue, instead of holding up
real world examples on how perfection can never be achieve.
