Institution-identity
. Do we choose our institution-identity?
. Or does it choose us?
. Do nature identities (appearance) effect someones institution
identity?
Discourse-identity
. Can people be born with their discourse identities?
. Or do people only create their discourse identity?
. Is this identity looked at more than others because being based on
achievement?
Affinity-identity
. Can this identity be looked at as the result of the other three?
. Are the people who dont participate in the affinity group looked
differently than people who do participate. For example, football fans
who watch every one of their teams games vs. fans who like a certain
team, but do not watch games.
.
Assignment
Bueller The teacher shows his discourse identity with his lack being able to
hold his classes attention and teaching in a boring manner with his
monotone voice. I can also identify a different discourse identity in the
students how they react with their bored and tired facial expressions.
Dead Poets Society In this clip I once again notice discourse identity in the
teacher based on how he goes about lecturing his class. He seems to be an
outgoing and interesting, both personalities that makes him who he is and I
believe that should fall under the nature identity. The students appear to be
apart of a sports team, assuming it is football, and them being apart of the
team reveals their institution identity, but also could be their affinity identity
due to the assumption of them being sports fans
Lockhart The teachers discourse identity is revealed, once again, by the
way he ran his classroom; in a chaotic manner. Also, when he pushes the
problem he made onto the students. The institution identity in the kids is

shown being that was from one of the Harry Potter films and they were at
Hogwarts.
