STANDARD: Visual
displays are used to
interpret data
EXAMPLE: Students
could insert graphs into a
PowerPoint to demonstrate
data they collected.
STANDARD:
Geometric figures
can be described by
their attributes and
specific locations in
the plane
EXAMPLE: Use a
Prezi to describe
attributes of
geometric figures.
Use pictures of the
shapes and list
characteristics.
Applying: Students
will apply what
they learned about
graphs by inserting
them into a
PowerPoint.
Understanding: The
teacher will teach
students about
geometric shapes
by showing
examples and
providing
characteristics.

STANDARD: Use
various geographic
tools and sources to

of the United States
EXAMPLE: Create a
PowerPoint with
several maps of the
United States
(physical, political,

about the United States
government. Break class
into three groups one for
Creating: Create a
presentation to
inform other
classmates about
the three branches
in the government.
STANDARDS: Human
body systems have basic
structures, functions, and
needs
EXAMPLE: Have
students create PowerPoint
presentations about
different body systems.
PowerPoints should
include pictures,
vocabulary, and facts.
STANDARDS:
Weather conditions
change because of the
uneven heating of
Earths surface by the
Suns energy
EXAMPLE: Put
video clips of
different weather
conditions into a
Prezi to assist in
explaining and
demonstrating
differences in
weather.
Creating: Students
create PowerPoints
to learn more about
human body
systems.
Analyzing: Teacher
provides video clips
of weather
conditions so
students can discuss
what they see and
analyze the science
behind what they
are seeing.

Physical Disabilities
Gifted/ Talented
EXAMPLE: Teachers
can use PowerPoints
to assist students with
hearing disabilities.
Being able to read the
notes on the screen
makes following

EXAMPLE: Students who
are gifted and talented can
benefit from PowerPoints
or Prezis because they can
be as creative or advanced
as each individual desires
it to be. They are very
flexible and great for
diverse learners.

Reflection: All of the standards I used are for fifth grade students in Colorado. PowerPoints and Prezis are versatile tools to use in all classrooms, but especially
older elementary grades. Presentations like this provide flexibility and options for all learners. Each student can focus on what they want and highlight their
strengths. I plan on utilizing PowerPoints often in my future classroom.
