1-What was/were the learning objectives/outcomes of the lesson? (Add state objectives if
known, for example, TEKS 111.4. Grade 2.b.)
Students will be able to use adjectives while they are writing an essay
2-How did the teacher begin and end the lesson?
She began the lesson with warm up; warm up was on the board while students were doing warm up Ms.
White took attendance and she went over the warm up questions when students are done the warm up
questions she started the lecture. Lecture was how to write formal essay, at the end of the class Ms. White
gave them homework, homework was writing essay at least 200 words limit

3-What did the teacher use for teaching materials or instructional aids/equipment?
Ms. White used for teaching materials
Text book, projector, notebook, pencils, computer

4-Which instructional methods and strategies did the teacher use? ( lecture, inquiry,
discovery learning, discussions, games or simulations, demonstrations, cooperative learning,
integration of technology, socrative questioning, etc)
She was using discussion methods and cooperative learning methods while she was lecturing

5-How did the teacher assess learning? (informal, formal, formative, summative, oral, openended, quiz, feedback etc) See Chapter 8 for more information on assessment methods
The teacher used formal learning method, teaching in the classroom. She performed an oral
assessment and also gave some feedbacks to students answers
6- What can you say about the teachers philosophy/beliefs and style?
(Traditional/progressive, behaviorist, student-centered vs. teacher centered, authoritative etc)

7-How does the teacher manage classroom? Can you identify classroom management
techniques used?
She is really mean teacher and she set her rules at the beginning of the school year and she did
not remind rules and she did not mention about students what to do every student knew about
rules step by step.

8-Observe in the classroom setting and determine types of behavior students play when offtask. What do they do when they are not paying attention? How does the teacher re-direct
them or get them back on task?
When student off task she went to student desk and she talked with student while other students
were doing their work. When I was observing her she did not mention about her classroom rules
and nobody was not paying attention.

9-How does the teacher communicate with students (verbal, vocal, meta-verbal or non-verbal
communication such as facial, body language, use of space, motion and time?)
She was communicating with students verbal

10-Who were the students in the class? What did you notice about them? (Background,
diversity, attitude, motivation, interaction, participation, etc)
There was one of the 6th grade students, total was 30 students 17 boys 13 girls. I can say there
was diversity class because there were from mixt communities such as Mexican, Chinese,
African Americans,

11-What did you see that is effective in engaging students? What do you see that is
ineffective in keeping students engaged?
Start class Warm up questions
Asking extra credit questions
Using group work
Discussed questions with students

12-What are the two instructional strategies you observed and would like to apply in your
classroom?
When I observed her Ms. White use two strategies one of them is discussion which helps
improving students understandability second one is practice doing strategies because she used
this strategies during class time.

13-What are two important classroom management strategies that you observed and would
like to apply in your classroom?
When I observed her, she was communicating with students very well during class time and she
was walking around the classroom and discussed the questions with students. I understood that
classroom rules and casuquenses must set up at the beginning school year and teacher should
implement rules his or her classroom otherwise rest of the school year will be messed up
