Classroom Management Plan

CLASS CODE OF CONDUCT
~ The details of this code of conduct will be listed in the members handbook,
explained on the first day, and the main points of the trifecta will be displayed in the
classroom.
Operation Respect Trifecta
1.) Respect Yourself
a. Ask Questions/Ask for Help
b. No Gum
c. No I Cant
d. Encourage Yourself
e. Play (both in and out of school)
f. Confident Mistakes
g. Safe Behaviors
h. Good Personal Hygiene
2.) Respect Others
a. No Offensive Language
b. Respect the Bubble
c. No Hacking (unnecessary noise)
d. Encourage Others
e. Follow Directions
f. Good Personal Hygiene
3.) Respect Your Space
a. Respect Instruments (maintenance, caution)
b. Respect the Bubble
c. Keep Space/Materials Organized and Clean
d. Use Materials and Instruments Correctly
*Beverage Policy: Only water containers that can close are allowed during class time
*Cell Phone Policy: Phone will be visibly under the chair, only used when instructed (for
metronome, tuner, etc.)

BEHAVIOR PLAN
~ This 4 step behavior plan will be listed in the members handbook, explained on
the first day, and displayed in the classroom.
For inappropriate behavior/behavior that does not align with the class or school code of
conduct, the teacher may enact the following consequences:
1.) Verbal Warning
2.) Seating Change, Removal from Class, Detention, and/or Grade is Affected
3.) Parent and/or Administrator is Contacted
*The teacher reserves the right to skip to any step at any point, and/or to add
parent/administrator contact to any of the above steps if deemed necessary.
BEHAVIOR PREVENTION
A classroom with a well-established atmosphere of respect and high expectations
will greatly aid in the prevention of misbehavior. The following points highlight
strategies used to ensure such an environment:
1.) Engage the students through expressive conducting
2.) Incorporate Universal Design for Learning and Student-Centered Learning in lesson
plans
3.) Engage students in partner help or silent practice during sectionalized instruction
4.) Establish a strong presence; travel around the room and use proximity to engage or
to diffuse problems
5.) Use student-learning to increase engagement, collaboration, and understanding
6.) Explain and enforce the class and school codes of conduct
7.) Display the code of conduct and consequences for breaching it
8.) Show empathy and understanding, and do not show excessive frustration or attitude
9.) Provide constant feedback on individual and group progress
10.) Provide an opportunity to receive critiques and/or feedback from students on a
regular basis
