DAYS OF THE WEEK LESSON PLAN

MATERIALS:
*Calendar
*Smart Board
*Video to the song (Music)

OBJECTVES
*Students will get to practice their listening skills
*Students will learn the days of the week in order
*Kids will get a turn to come up and point to the days of
the week
*Students will get to sing along to the song and practice
their listening skills
ACTIVITIES/PROCEDURE:
*First, I will show the students a calendar and ask them
if they know what it is.
*I will then ask if anyone knows what the days of the
week are.
*If they werent already discussed, I will tell them and
show them what the 7 days of the week are.
*Next, I will show them the song

*First we will listen to the song, and then we will all sing
along to it with the video
*I will point to the songs on the calendar as the song is
saying the words.
*I will then ask for volunteers to point to the words on
the calendar.
*When the song is all finished, I will ask them questions
about the days of the week. Example: What day is it? What
day comes before Friday?
*Finally, to see if they were paying attention, I will ask
how many days are in the week.
TEACHING TIPS/EXTENSIONS:
*Once children learn the days, I would ask them if they
knew what the months were
*Students could possibly come up to the front and say
the days of the week in front of their peers
*Students could make their own calendar
*Students could also pick their favorite day and learn
how to write it
