Plan Title: Time(line) to Act Out

Name: Anibal Dautant

ID# 3

Behavior Contingency Plan (BCP): Grading Rubric

Undesirable Behavior(s) Targeted: (Off task)
Students are talking about topics irrelevant to the subject being taught, talking while teacher is teaching
and giving out instructions out, speaking out by interrupting teacher or other students talking, and some
students are reluctant to participate in class discussion. These behaviors interfere with learning because
students are interrupting teachers instructions/lectures that are being interrupted, conversations between
students dont foster/add to education dialoged in the classroom and students are not on task during
class discussions.
Expected Behavior Targeted: (Appropriately participating in class lectures)
Behavior reinforced will be fostering appropriate interaction among teacher to students and student to
student during teacher lectures/instruction and class discussions. Paying attention, participating in class
discussion, raising of hand and waiting to be called on, and waiting till other people finish talking to began
talking.
1. Immediate R+ When student engages in appropriate action during class discussion and instructional
teaching student will receive important event sticker that will go on timeline for the era/unit we are
currently on. BSPS examples: Good listening. Great responding! Thats a valid point!
2. Ongoing R+ During the last five minutes of class students will put the stickers they receive on timeline in
the order they think it goes with the help of other students. This activity will be done as a class activity
so it can foster socializing in an educational context and teamwork between students. This will also
show students how far they have progressed as a class.
3. Overall R+ - when class completes sticker timeline the class will get to do an ACT OUT DAY on the
battle (WWII: D-Day invasion) or important event (Drafting of declaration of Ind.: July 4th) that has to do
with the era/unit we are currently on
4. Immediate R+ will be administrated by teacher when student finishes talking they will be handed an
event sticker by the teacher with a quick BSPS. Ongoing R+ will be done at the end of class as part of
our final class assessment in order to recap what we have learned that day. The person that received
the sticker will go up to the timeline after class agrees where the sticker should go.
Interactive Learning Activity
When students fill timeline up with all the important event stickers and it is in the correct order students
will get an ACT OUT DAY. The TEKS covered will be 7 (A) (E) (F): WWII. Students will get to act out how
WWII ended 7 (E:), picking sides 7(A: knowing all the players) and assigning important figures (E) among
students to act out, which will mirror and illustrate how WWII ended.
Teach the Desired Behaviors:
In order to teach appropriate behavior teacher will create cue cards with roles on them and pass them out
to students the first day the BCP will be implanted. This role-play cards will show appropriate actions
during and lecture/discussion and actions that are not appropriate for the situation which will be played
out at the beginning of class. This will teach students of accepted behaviors and how the BCP will work.
Explain HOW you will Teach the Plan:
In order to teach students of the importance of order of events and the value of a timelines, at the
beginning of the unit students will create a small timeline of their own life. In these timelines students will
add monumental events of their own lives so they can put the context of what goes on a timeline and why
it goes on a timeline to their own lives. After students timelines are created, students will be presented
with the class unit timeline and explained how it will be an ongoing timeline that will continue as the unit
progresses. Students will also be told of a goal that they will have to try and reach each day by engaging
in appropriate classroom behavior during class discussions/instructional time. Each day students will

have between 5-7 class questions they will have to answer during lectures where they will have an
opportunity to earn an event sticker. If they dont reach the goal for that day the next day they will have
another opportunity to earn those event stickers the following day.
Provide options
This BCP can be adjusted for other units or other classes by adjusting your class timeline with important
events that you will be discussing during that unit. In reading you can create timeline to mimic the book
being read at the time and when students complete timeline they can act out a chapter they are reading
from their books.
