Global Problem and Local Action
Climate change and global warming is a big deal all over around the world. In the
article Talking about Climate Change and Global by Maurice Lineman, Yuno Do, Ji Yoon
Kim, and Gea Jae Joo talks about their research about the problem and the issues of
social consequences. The public perception had a couple of changes where
researchers had a method to analysis sentiment, also be able to develop a social
consciousness on certain public interests. The patterns of global warming as well as
climate change found a study of RSV meaning relative search volume, to solve the
publics thoughts and recognition to these problems.
In the social media world the researchers were able to connect these problems
with it, also with the bond between recognition of terminology. (Lineman 3) This specific
problem is affecting primates, in the article Climate Change Will Further Endanger
Monkeys by Christine Buckley states that the El Nino warming is affecting profusion of
the four most endangered and threatened New World monkeys. She states Up to one
third of primate species are threatened with extinction, so it is really crucial to
understand how these changes in climate may be affecting their populations. (Buckley
5) The definition of conservation is the act of conserving meaning preservation.
Sustainability is the ability to support and upheld. ERB is the meaning of the term

environmental responsible behavior unwinds from the contemporary conditions in

which social studies study environmental behavior. (Krajhanzl 5)
The conservation and sustainability of Salt Lake community is a part of Green
Academy of the Division of Continuing Education wanted to help Utahs workforce for
the energy technologies and energy conservation. (IREC 2) You also join a program at
Salt Lake Community College called Environmental Science and Sustainability, this
program will really interested in helping students to be able to growing interest in many
aspects of sustainability. The learning outcomes in this program will help students be
able to understand and apply the basic concepts of this program, as well as the effects
of humanities unsustainable lifestyles of economy and the environment.
Also at Salt Lake Community College has another program called Construction
Management and Sustainable Building, this program is wanting and pursuing thee
commercial of sustainable construction steps that lead the green building and energy
conservation demands of today in the world of Mother Nature. Also the learning
outcomes in this program help the students learn how important green and sustainable
building practices are able they will be required by clients and national building codes.
In the American Association of Community Colleges says that Salt Lake Community
college won the Utah Business the year 2011 Green Business award, meaning that they
cared about the environments sustainability of the efforts in Utah. Also the college had
an award for the leadership and teaching of the fields in energy management and green
technology that helps environmental sustainability.
In Salt Lake City, Utah they had a sustainability plan. If you actually look around
in Utah you will see that mostly everything is covered with something green, we have

beautiful big mountains with amazing trees and nature. The history continues with
sustainable originality across this beautiful valley. Salt Lake also has a program at Visit
Salt Lake include energy conservation is a program of using CFL or other energy
efficient alternatives in all lighting and all computer workstations are set to energy
saving mode. (visitsaltlake 5) Also Salt Lake has opportunity Meet Green in Salt Lake
it is a program for making the community an environmentally sustainable place for
people to have meetings, visitors, and conventions.
For Utah, it has a organizations but one specific one would be the Alta
Environmental Center. It is an organization that was made to enhance sustainability
practices through the departments, the research with they partners and the interact
progress with their skiers. The Envision Utah organization that helps people be able to
make and sustain groups for current and future residents. (sustainutah 4)
The general issue of global warming and climate change is getting worse on
earth, temperatures are climbing, sea lever are rising, and seasons are shifting.
Especially in Utah the weather is always changing from hot to cold in one day, like for
example it is nice and sunny in the morning then during the afternoon it will be having a
huge storm with rain and snow. To primatologists this issue is a big deal because it is
hurting the primates and their environment, as well as they will become exist if things
dont change. Global warming and climate change will just get worse if we dont handle
this now as a community, there will be consequences for climate problems that are
devastating for several primates. I currently do not attend any activities that relate with
conservation and sustainability, but learning more about it now really has me thinking on
joining a program or doing something to change the environment to become a better

place for everyone. From the research Ive done about global warming and climate
change has me wanting me to help the earth in any way I could, also I would want to
make a fundraiser so people will get involved and help make the world a better place for
not just themselves but for every one around them. I want to do more for anything that
could make a good difference, but sometimes it is not possible I know nothing is
impossible because life will not be fun if we didnt have any challenges for us.
