Reminders & Announcements

•PARENT COMMUNICATION/SCHOOL REPORT CARD UPDATE: We had a successful school report card this year outstanding the area of
parent communication. Administration has tried to improve this by 1. Using Powerschool more effectively 2. Adding school messenger to our
phone system and 3. Changing the responsibilities of the advisory teacher as far as parent calls. To improve parent communication, if you are
unable to reach a parent of your advisory student, please send their parent a letter explaining that they need to come in to pick up their child’s
report card. REPORT CARDS ARE NOT BE HANDED OUT TO STUDENTS – ONLY PARENTS.
• M/T Oct 29-30 DYO ELA assessments will occur during ELA classes – no change of schedule.
•CONGRATS TO BETHANY: She completed the Nike San Francisco Women’s Marathon (her first) last Saturday in 5:33:08.
• Parents are requesting that teachers write a Short Description Of Assignments on PowerSchool so they can use the information to
communicate more effectively with their kids.
• COMPUTER LOCKS ARE AVAILABLE for every laptop – if you would like one on your desk please see Angel.
•NO STAFF OR STUDENT COSTUMES on Halloween due to student sensitivities – please try to make it a regular day.
•ALL WINDOWS IN ALL CLASSES MUST BE UNOBSTRUCTED – including the ones on your door (must be clear of posters etc.). DOE
regulations require people to see in and out of rooms.
•THURSDAY NIGHT OCT 25: Parent Teacher Conference Night!
• SAVE THE DATE: Nov 2 BK Health Fair coordinated by Amelia. You will spend all day with your advisory.
