Closing Simon Says (Rugby)

In the two grids, the two teams are to be split into two teams
(Team A and Team B). Under the teacher instructions, the two
teams either have to defend or attack to score a try.
The students are to line up in single file, behind each other
on the team.
Teacher is to call out a team name and a number.
The number the teacher calls out will be the number of
students playing, while the letter determines which team
will start with the ball (e.g. A, 3 means team A gets the
ball and 3 players run out).
Attacking team has 3 roll balls to try and get the ball past
the defenders and score a try, to get a point.
If the defenders tag the attackers four time, or intercept
the pass, they get a point.
If the defenders try to intercept the pass but knock the
ball to the ground, the attackers reset their touches.
At the end of the drill, the students are to join the back of
their respective lines.

Closing 6vs6 Sets of 4

Within their teams of 8, students are permitted to have 6
players on the ground at one time, meaning that they have to
interchange.
Teams will have 4 sets of 6 to get to the end of the grid
and score a try.
Each time there is a turnover, the ball hits the ground or
the attacking team doesnt score in their set of 6, there is
a new set to be taken from the centre of the grid.
Each time there is a new set of 6, those students on the
bench must rotate on the field, swapping with two other
students.
Teams must try to score as many trys as they can in their
set of 4.
Teams with the most trys at the end of the drill win.

Closing Game: Hot Potato

With the students divided into teams of 8, students have to
pass the ball around their team, trying to make 10 consecutive
passes without the ball hitting the ground or intercepted.
Students have to rotate their body so that they are
passing the ball backwards to a teammate.
If the ball leaves the playing arena, it is an automatic
turnover.
If the other team tries to make an intercept but the ball
hits the ground the attacking team gets the ball back.
Extension:
When students have the ball they have to stop where they
are.
Players that do not have the ball are still allowed to move.
Passes have to go boy, girl, boy, girl etc.

Closing Game Sets of 4

In teams of 8 students are to play a modified version of touch
rugby using the techniques that they have learnt in previous
lessons.
Students are to get 4 sets of 6 touches to try and score a
try.
This means if they use up all of their 6 touches prior to
scoring a try or the ball is dropped/intercepting they get a
new set.
If the team scores a try, then they get another set of 6.
Students have 4 sets of 6 touches to try and score as
many trys as they can.
Nominate students in each game to be the umpire.
