SUBJECT: Letter of Recommendation for SSgt Nicholas J. Harrod
1. It is an honor and privilege to recommend SSgt Nicholas J. Harrod for the position of Enlisted
Aide. Ive known SSgt Harrod for 3 years now and all I have is two words: Phenomenal Airman!
In my 15 years of service Ive had the opportunity to train our young men and women at Basic
Training as a Military Training Instructor and continued my mentorship as a Flight Chief in
Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE). In all, Ive seen approximately 3K personnel cross into
the blue. Out of many, there were only a few that really stand out and SSgt Nicholas Harrod is
definitely one of the few. Ive never seen someone so dedicated to perfection and possess such an
unwavering strength in the face of diversity. While assigned to the AGE flight, he was
instrumental in the flight securing three Air Force Best Practices and selection for the 2010
USAFE General George C. Kenney Lessons Learned Award. He was a crucial piece to the unit
being selected for the 2010 USAFE Maintenance Effectiveness Award. SSgt Harrod is the person
you can count on to be all in and get things done right the first time. His genuine character
clenches all core values and airmanship that should be embodied by a dedicated Air Force
member.
2. SSgt Harrod is a valuable asset to any organization and undoubtedly would prove to be a
greater asset as an Enlisted Aide. His impact would be felt on a much broader scale if he were
given this opportunity to assist higher leadership with affectively accomplishing the mission. If
