Title: Test Review: Kahoot Two-Step, One-X

Identified Age/Group: 7th Grade.
Concepts: Mathematics
Standards Addressed (CCSS): CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.7.EE.B.4:
Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical
problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve
problems by reasoning about the quantities.

Objective: Students will be able to refresh themselves on how to solve real-world and
mathematical problems from an equation or constructing an equation by using a mobile device or
laptop to answer.
Learning Outcomes: Be able to refresh themselves before the quiz, by using their technology to

VI

incorporate learning from paper to technology.

Materials:
Paper
Pencils
Kahoot.it
ELMO
Procedures:
Going back to the textbook, students will have a chance to ask any questions or concerns on how

to answer these questions. (10 minutes)

Use ELMO to overhead any problems that need clarification.
Each student will log into Kahoot.it, either on their mobile device or Chromebook, type in the

PIN, and create a name.

As questions appear on the projector, one by one, students will have thirty seconds to answer the

question on their looseleaf sheet of paper, and match their answer with the corresponding
5

answers available.
Students will continue answering these questions until there is a winner. A total of 25 questions
will appear one by one.

IX

Assessments: Students can judge for themselves on any types of questions they are struggling
on based off their scores. As their devices will appear and show what questions they got wrong,

they can take into account which problems they must learn.
Accommodation: Students which do not have a cellular device or a cellular device with data,

XI

may borrow a chrome book or use a computer in the back of the room.
Modifications: Students may ask for assistance on a problem in order to get started on the

XII

question, but may not share answers amongst themselves.

Reflections: Students will learn how to work independently on the technology of their choosing
in order to study for the upcoming exam. Kahoot will be used to stimulate those competitive
juices in their head, as it is seen as a video trivia game. This will be used in future activities when
reviewing subjects, depending on how well the game went.
