Introduction
By the greening the world economy it means the developing countries, as they will account for
the majority of the global growth in the coming decades. The Republic of Kenya is a large nation
of 45 million people located in central east Africa. Kenya has one of the best economies in
Africa, yet is a facing number of pressing economic, environmental and social challenges.
Although the growing nation has support for a green economy compliance and enforcement
remains problematic.
History
Greenings Kenyas economy is not only a governments policy, but also an opportunity to
develop new technologies, create green jobs for promoting green growth. In some early years
Kenya has taken in several green economy projects that approaches things that include
renewable energy feed in tariffs in 2008. Kenya has had progress in achieving various socialeconomic development targets, the economy still faces many challenges. The Kenyan economy
has had a really slow growth since 2008 and on average the growth remains below 10 percent.
The economy has suffered pretty rough events for example changes in oil prices, the global
growth diminished, terrorism, and other events.
Current situation

The government is developing a green economy strategy to support development efforts towards
addressing key challenges such as poverty, unemployment, inequality, environmental
degradation, and climate change and food insecurity. Kenyas has adopted a constitution that
provides a fresh foundation that places the right to a clean environment. Kenyas private sector
Alliance has been developing and diffusing the innovative products, technologies and services
that will generate sustainable solutions. With this private sector it can create new investment and
protect and sustain exiting investments. Also the cleaner enterprises are very competitive,
companies could achieve 30 to 40 percent of reduction in energy consumption with no or low
cost technology. Also Kenyas institute for Public Research and analysis has taken in assets as
key drivers of the economy for example agriculture, livestock, tourism, forestry, and fisheries.
Kenya has one of the largest manufacturing sectors in sub Saharan Africa, but the sector is
challenged by high energy costs it has been showed that is one of the key pillars of the Kenya
vision 2030. Kenyas transport sector is growing rapidly so the government has taken significant
measures to regulate the sector and reduce harmful pollutants.
Future situation
A recommendation for specific UN Nations that should be taken in the future is creating
employment for a growing youth population is one of the key challenges facing Kenyas even
though the levels of economic growth. Also they have to recognize that the green economy
transition will support the goals of Kenya Vision 2030 by pursuing the countrys development as
a priority. Put policy to enhance renewable energy and encourage job creation in Kenya. Also
they can adopt environmental and technical standards to ensure Kenyas is not disadvantaged by
the changing institutional framework governing international trade.
