country'sconfidencescorewas131inthethreemonthsendedSeptember2015,sameasthatofpreviousquarter.
AccordingtoSocietyofIndianAutomobileManufacturers(SIAM),domesticcarsalesinDecember2015stoodat172,671
unitsascomparedto152,986unitsinthesamemonthof2014.Overallpassengervehiclesalesduringthemonthgrewby
10.46percentat230,960unitsasagainst209,086unitsintheyearagomonth.
India'scurrentaccountdeficitintheJulySeptember2015quarteratUS$8.2billionwaswiderthantheUS$6.2billionin
thepreviousquarter.However,itwaslowerthantheUS$10.9billiondeficitrecordedinsameperiodlastyear.
IndiasWholesalePriceIndex(WPI)inflationrateremainednegativeat0.73percentforthefourteenthconsecutivemonth
inDecember2015asagainstnegative1.99percentinthepreviousmonth.
IndiasConsumerPriceIndex(CPI)inflationrateincreasedto5.61percentinDecember2015ascomparedto5.41per
centinNovember2015.
ThetotalMergersandAcquisitions(M&A)transactionvaluefor2015wasUS$30.43billioninvolvingatotalofaround600
transactions.
PrivateEquityinvestmentactivityin2015increasedintermsofvolume(1,000dealsor64.5percentincrease)aswellas
intermsofvalue(US$16billionor30percentincrease)onayearonyearbasis.
