has more big of an impact on them then anything children and teenagers are
surrounded by.
TYPOGRAPHY: The audience for this genre is pretty well aware of social
media, most likely a great majority of this audience has had an experience
with social media. But they are more likely to be unaware of the fact of the
negative effects of social media on todays youth. I want this audience to be
aware of the negative parts of social media and how it can and will affect the
future of todays generation psychologically, and how that negative impact
mentally can become a result of bigger problems in the greater masses of
people.
ICONOGRAPHY: The audience more or likely would spend about less than
half of their time with this genre. I say that only because there really arent an
alarming amounts of videos out on the internet or television because
industries dont like to shed spotlight on this subject because that is how most
companies make money by drawing in consumers with images and thought
provoking subject matter that entices the viewer to replicate what they are
seeing.
TYPOGRAPHY: This genre I would say would be the genre that the audience
is going to spend much time on. I say this because a great majority of the
information I can find is mostly studies, articles, and written pieces. This
genre is going to be the most important only due to the amount information
that can be contributed.
ICONOGRAPHY: The purpose of this genre would be that inform. A great
majority of the information from this genre is intended to inform. This genre is
going to be used to inform the public and discourse communities of the
negative effects of social media.
TYPOGRAPHY: The purpose of this genre is going to be to persuade people
with the information to the problem. With information provided through this
genre I believe this is the foundation of trying to understand the given
problem.
ICONOGRAPHY: In this genre it can go either way with the language. But
most likely will be formal only because this is a serious issue being dealt with
and so I dont think it can be seen as informal.
TYPOGRPAHY: Topography as a genre, I would consider most or maybe
even all the information to be formal. I say this because right now as far as
what I see for information I see a lot of essays, magazine articles, and books
that contain the information relevant to this topic.
ICONOGRAPHY: In iconography I am not expecting for there to be any or if at
all any specialized vocabulary. Since this genre is more familiar with people of
all ages I think the information stated in this genre is easy enough to be
understood by its vocabulary.
TYPOGRAPHY: In topography, this genre is more likely to have specialized
vocabulary. I say this only because of the articles of the information are meant
Madelyn Krieger
for a more in-depth understanding of a subject. With that in mind I expect
psychology terms and vocabulary to be implemented.
7. ICONOGRAPHY: Other languages such as visuals might be noticed more in
topography because that it how we validate that the subject that is being
talked about it also the subject the person is trying to understand. Most
people use visuals to relate to what is being discussed.
TYPOGRAPHY: The other languages that are featured are text. Text is
different from that of topography because information provided in this genre
are more likely to be of more educated peoples text. Text in iconography is
different only because the information given is meant to be more well
elaborated than that of iconography.
Rhetorical Issues: Ethos, Pathos, Logos
1. ICONOGRAPHY: It can establish its credibility by quoting professionals
that are related to the issue at hand. Most people believe what shows up
on the news and important parts of the internet most be important for
people to watch. This can be a form of establishing credibility.
TYPOGRAPHY: Input from specialist helps establish credibility in this
genre. Statistics is considered to be the one thing that helps create
credibility with a problem. People apply a statistic that was conducted by
one of Americas most prestigious research schools and somehow creates
credibility.
2. ICONOGRAPHY: The emotion that I hope that evokes the audience would
be that the audience can relate to the topic at hand. I want them to look at
themselves inside and out to realize that what they preserve on social
media doesnt have to apply to them. I guess the emotion I want to evoke
on the audience would be self-acceptance.
TYPOGRAPHY: The emotion that is mostly to be evoked in this genre is
understanding a different a view on something that they know well. I want
the emotion of realization to be evoked from this genre. I say that only
because the information that can be taken from this genre is most likely to
contribute to such emotion.
3. ICONOGRAPHY: The following will be supporting evidence to support the
intended claim: testimonials, events that can be connected to the intended
topic, and interviews. All supporting evidence should be valid and reliable.
The outlets for which the evidence will come from should be from reliable
sources.
TYPOGRAPHY: Published essays, research studies, and newspaper
articles are the primary sources for evidence. Published works are more
likely to be reliable and valid because they had to meet some sort of stand
to be published, in an official way.
STRUCTURE AND DELIEVERY
Madelyn Krieger
1. TYPOGRAPHY: The information from this genre is more likely to be implement
after iconography. Iconography is more familiar with a lot of people then
typography. With that in mind typography would be best if the information were to
be put into the in-depth, more informative, part of the message.
ICONOGRAPHY: Iconography should be the beginning of the foundation of the
message because not all information is as detailed as typography. This leaves
iconography the chance to leave an impression of what the message may be.
2. ICONOGRAPHY: There is a big restriction of information because information
conveyed in this genre is more short and to the point. That is why most people
may prefer this genre. But since this genre doesnt contribute as much ideal
information that is needed to make a valid argument or statement, it should be
placed at the beginning and trails slightly throughout the research.
TYPOGRAPHY: For typography I dont see that this genre would as restrictive as
iconography. It is more free to express through this genre only because it gives
much more in detail. All of this information is written and has no limit to the
amount of information that can be given.
3. ICONOGRAPHY: The structure of how iconography is going to facilitate the
purpose is going to be to establish the basis of the problem being stated. I am
using iconography to start off with proving my purpose has some significance.
TYPOGRAPHY: The information that typography is used for is going to be
support some parts of iconography that need to be elaborated. The info should
be structured well enough to prove that there is a purpose. The purpose should
be able to stand all together and include the key components of what was said
before the detailed body of the findings. All should come together to make a well
structured finding.
