B., C., & V. (n.d.). Vietnam War Stories for Children -- Best Books. Retrieved March
04, 2016, from http://www.the-best-childrens-books.org/Vietnam-Warstories.html

This is a resource that is both online but can provide you with print
information. The most interesting part about this resource is it is a database
filled with childrens book, and in this case, about the Vietnam War. There is
a very large selection, which would allow you to switch up what you teach
each year you are coving the Vietnam War era. Teachers could also do
literature circles with multiple books teach the students with different levels.

RACE - History - Civil Rights Era and the Vietnam War. (n.d.). Retrieved March 04,
2016, from
http://www.understandingrace.org/history/gov/civil_rights_vietnam.html

This resource discusses something that is often overlooked because
the civil rights act happened before the Vietnam War, it discusses Race
relations during the Vietnam war era. Since it is not often taught or
discussed, talking about race during this period would allow the students to
understand that civil rights was not an issue that was fixed when the civil
rights act was signed into law. This is a resource that could be used for most
grade levels.

Shmoop Editorial Team. (2008). Culture in The 1960s. Retrieved March 04, 2016,
from http://www.shmoop.com/1960s/culture.html

This is a resource that gives the a more typical view of the times. Both
the culture and counter culture from the time are shown and there are tabs
for the timeline, people, facts, photos, and other analysiss of what was
happening during the time. This both paints a picture of what 1960s
America looked like in both positive and negative aspects. This could be used
to give the foundation of the lesson.

Teaching about the Vietnam War in Vietnam. (2011). Retrieved March 04, 2016,
from http://www.pbs.org/frontlineworld/educators/history_vietnam.html

This is an online resource that has many different activities for
teachers to teach about Vietnam in a more inclusive way that allows the
students to learn from both sides of the conflict. This resource has many
different standards that it meets and it does a great job of making sure that

could be used in a classroom with mature students.

The Vietnam War. (n.d.). Retrieved March 04, 2016, from
http://www.authentichistory.com/1961-1974/4-vietnam/

This is a resource that offers views of the Vietnam War era in the
typical sense of looking at its effects on television, film, radio, literature, and
the overview of the war as a whole. This will be able to give them a better
idea of how the war effected the society as a whole, and why a culture and
counterculture developed.

Walsh, K. (2010, March 12). The 1960s: Polarization, Cynicism, and the Youth
Rebellion. Retrieved March 4, 2016, from
http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2010/03/12/the-1960s-polarizationcynicism-and-the-youth-rebellionredirect

This is a four part project by US News and World Report that is about
innocence vs cynicism and the changing dynamic during this period. This is a
good teacher resource to understand the societal shifts during the period
rather than a direct teaching tool for the teacher to use. This would help the
teacher covey to their students the underlying themes that were prevalent
during the period.

Zinn Education Project. (n.d.). Retrieved March 04, 2016, from
http://zinnedproject.org/

This is an online resource that has many different scholarly articles
and recommended lesson plans for teachers to use to teach not only social
studies but to teach projects relating to war, the Vietnam war, the draft and
how to teach inclusively. This is the website that I have been most impressed
with and it will definitely be an asset in the toolkit project.
