Clarinet Observation:
Not all of the students showed up on time, so I had to start without everyone.
Warmed up with Frere Jacque singing in solfege: students sang correct notes
but not always correct pitches, when they went to play it, they were having
trouble with the eighth note section, I had them play it in groups and then all
together.
Taught low Sol (G) for 2-3 minutes, not all students covered all the holes,
some were squeaking, for next rehearsal I want to have them walk down to
low G from middle C practicing covering the holes all the way.
Go Tell Aunt Rhody
- Went over note names and rhythms, 1st on the board
- I was disappointed that the students didnt seem to get it, they are still
having trouble reading the music
- We were only able to get through the 1 st 4 measures, I assigned the rest
for hw.
- Didnt get through the whole lesson!
- Went a lot slower than I thought.
