Animal Farm Timeline Events

Chapter 1:
Old Majors speech
This was a speech only understood by the pigs to take control of the farm. This speech
got the animals to rebel against the humans and run their own farm. It gave them hope
for a better life and it inspired a lot of animals
Beasts of England
This was the animals national anthem. The more they sang the song, the more excited
they got. This song represented the rebellion and reminded the animals of their great
achievement. Even when Old Major was dead the song still represented the spirit of
Animal Farm.
Chapter 2:
Animals rebellion
Jones and his men are chased out of the farm, so the animals self run the farm with the
pigs being the rulers. Everybody is joyous because it is their dream come true. The
pigs have been planning it for a while and by fate it came true.
The Rules on the Farm- Seven Commandments
The rules now that the animals have on the farm: Seven Commandments.
These are the guidelines that all of the animals have to follow. Some of the animals do
not follow these rules. A.K.A. the pigs and make changes to the commandments, so that
the other animals do not question them.
Chapter 3:
The pigs take the milk from the cows
Squealer says the pigs need the milk because they need to have energy to watch over
the rest of the animals, and if he says if the animals have a problem with it Mr. Jones
will come back. The first sign of inequality between the animals and the pigs.
The Animal Farm Flag
A green table cloth with a hoof and a horn painted on it. The greenon the flag means the
fields and the hoof and the horn mean the future republic of the animals. This made the
animals excited for being their own farm run totally by animals. It gave them pride and it
also represented the spirit of Animal Farm.
Chapter 4:
The Battle of Cowshed
The animals planned an ambush. Pigeons fly to and fro against the humans.Boxer was
in the back yard when he noticed he had stunned a man. He felt sorrow for what he had

done but Snowball had congratulated him. Snowball flung 15 rocks at Mr. Jones legs. A
sheep died and Snowball got shot on the back by Joness gun. This battle shows the
power of the animals.
Award ceremony after the battle
Animal Hero First Class: Boxer and Snowball.
Animal Hero Second Class: the sheep who died.
Chapter 5:
Clover Confronts MollieClover confronts Mollie because she was flirting with a man from Pinchfield Farm.
Clover finds ribbons in Mollies stall. Mollie runs away to another farm. She was never
mentioned again. Though, she represented the people of Russia that left before the
rest.
Snowball gets kicked out of the farm by Napoleon and the dogs.
Napoleon uses Four legs good, two legs bad, to his advantage by telling the sheep to
say that everytime snowball speaks. Napoleon brings the dogs back from education
and has them attack Snowball.
Chapter 6:
Animals Build a Windmill
The animals are building the windmill, and then it gets knocked down and destroyed.
Napoleon thinks snowball did it and he wants the other animals to kill him for a half
bushel of apples or catch him alive for a full bushel. The windmill building was brutal
because they used the force of gravity to make rocks the size in which they wanted.
Boxer strained his body in order for his dream of the windmill to come true.
The pigs Sleep in Beds
The pigs start sleeping in the beds without sheets. The other animals question that to be
against the Fourth Commandment, but the pigs add that no animal can sleep in a bed
with sheets. This makes the pigs more human since they get to enjoy more human
luxuries.
Chapter 7:
Hens Protest
The hens protest that they will not give up their eggs unless it is absolutely necessary to
survive. Because of this nine hens died. In the beginning they were promised that they
would raise their chicks with Animalism, but now they are being forced to give up their
children.
Animal Slaughter
The pigs ordered the dogs to go crazy and they killed a goose, three sheep, a few hens,
and four pigs. They attempted to kill Boxer, but there were not strong enough. Also,

Boxer was having doubts about Napoleon. This was to show the other animals what
would happen if they disobeyed the pigs.
Chapter 8:
Wood Pile Trade
Napoleon traded wood piles to Frederick in exchange for money, but Frederick gave
him fake money. It took a while for Napoleon to decide. He would go from Pilkington to
Frederick and then back to Pilkington. It was Napoleons brilliant idea to pretend and
sell it to Pilkington so that Frederick would raise his prices. This made Animal Farm look
like fools.
The Battle of Windmill
The animals fought against Frederick and his men with guns, the animals were driven
back, and the windmill was destroyed once again. Napoleon asked Pilkington for help,
but he said no. The animals won but there were casualties. It was a loss for the animals
but a win for the pigs; the animals were devastated.
Chapter 9:
Boxer Dies
Boxer falls while he is working and his lung gave out. Napoleon calls a Veterinarian to
heal Boxer, but when the van comes, Benjamin notices that the side of it says Horse
Slaughter. The animals yell to Boxer to get out, but he doesnt. 3 days later the farm
finds out that he died. The animals are suspicious that Napoleon purposely called the
knacker to take Boxer away.
31 new pigs are born
The farm is already getting really low on food, but now they have to feed more mouths.
The worst part is that winter is coming up as well. The piglets still have more privileges
than all the other animals. They have to go to school and they get to where clothes.
Chapter 10:
Pigs walk on two legs
The pigs learn to walk on two legs to show that they are superior to the other animals
and to gain respect from humans. They even change four legs good, two legs bad, to
four legs good, two legs better.
The Pigs Turn Into Humans
The pigs now do everything that Mr. Jones did when he was in charge of the farm. The
farm started with humans and apparently ended with humans. It was situational irony
because the animals couldnt tell if they were humans or pigs.
