2.)Involving People Who Are Most Affected

a. Athletes are usually most affected. Mostly either collegiate or high
school athletes, since there are no professional sports that are too
close by. Possibly also middle school aged athletes, but significant knee
injuries dont tend to happen to them quite often.
b. I think that to get these athletes involved, we could have success with
athletes who have experienced these significant injuries by helping

provide them with information our outlets to them so that they can
find or receive help of some kind, whether it is emotional, mental, or
some other kind of help.
One big factor is money. It takes a lot of money because of the time it
takes with a physical therapist in order to be fully recovered from a
significant knee injury. Another factor is the time. Since most of these
athletes are students of some sort, time can be a big factor because of
all the other possible commitments they have such as homework or
jobs. The last factor could be the mental stress of a significant injury.
For a lot of these athletes, their sport is their main commitment and a
lot of them love the game that they play, and possibly not being able
to play or play at a level that they were able to play at before their
injury could cause a lot of emotional and mental stress and possibly
make them want to give up or not pursue trying to recover.
Local, State, and National Organizations
Local Coalition: Moscow Mountain Physical Therapy.

ii. (208) 882-1426
iii. I believe this group would be a great addition because of their
ability to talk to athletes and give them some kind of
encouragement and support and show the athletes that it is
possible to get better and recover and play again.
State Coalition: University of Idaho or Washington State Athletic
Training/Sports Medicine

ATCLID=208263653
ii. (509) 335-5485
iii. I believe this group would be a good addition because they
would also be able to provide good information and also have a
lot of experience working with high caliber athletes.
National Coalition: American Physical Therapy Association
i. https://www.apta.org/
ii. (703) 684-2782
iii. I believe this group would be a good addition because of the
information that they could provide and also provide possible
doctors or physical therapists who are nearby and part of their
association for possible seminars or speakers and also could be
very supportive for the athletes in order to help them recover or
prevent from different injuries.
