MET 503 APPLIED OPTIMAZATION

Hanger
Optimization
PROFESSOR: RICHARD MARK FRENCH
NAME: ANDRE FELIPE TORRES SENRA

Introduction
In order to reduce costs, therefore the profit a hanger optimization was developed
aiming to minimize the amount of material being used.
Also a sensitivity analysis was developed to show how the selected variables would
change as the changes were made.
Data was acquired before the optimization in order to make comparisons.

Sensitivity Analysis

Conclusion
The first optimization generated a reduction of 16 % of the
product`s mass, which is a reasonable value.
The second optimization generated a reduction of 11 % of the
product`s mass.
Looking towards the sensitivity analysis when can say that, varying
the mass in a small amount while adding material to increase the
radius we have a significant reduction in the von Misses Stress.
(47%).
